Scholl, President/CEO For many athletes that theme is almost etched into their brains. So too it is etched into the mindset of each team member and official here at CorePlus. We know the fundamentals of our Credit Union’s philosophy of “Not for Profit, Not for Charity, But for Service” and we relate all that we do back to those fundamentals each and every day. The events that took place in the CorePlus calendar year of 2012 provide strong evidence of our reliance on the fundamentals so that we can comfortably state that CorePlus was the “BEST” Eastern Connecticut Credit Union in 2012. Further, we will continue to be the “BEST” in 2013 and beyond. Surely, our members will agree that “the award goes to CorePlus”! When we review the Team successes of 2012 and compare the results with our business plan for the year, many “highlights” jump out at us. For example, according to plan we… “We are growing, expanding & improving our services for you...our members.” • Relocated and reorganized our “Back Office” support operations to better utilize available space at the 202 Salem Turnpike office building. • We opened our first “Loan Zone” office in Putnam in April of 2012 and followed it with a second “Loan Zone” office in Norwich in July. • We adopted a “Putting the CREDIT Back in Credit Union” advertising theme for the year. • Launched a CorePlus Student Loan program with accompanying member education seminar opportunities. • Restructured the Loan portfolio to increase the total number of loans outstanding (thus serving more members). • We reinvigorated our indirect lending program opening up new and improved lines of communication with area auto dealers. • Further, we also completed some necessary infrastructure repairs, participated in community awareness events and increased required net capital such that CorePlus has successfully maintained its premier status as a “Well Capitalized Credit Union”. CorePlus in the Community Chamber of Commerce Eastern Connecticut Warren Scholl with Congressman Joe Courtney at a Chamber of Commerce Eastern Connecticut breakfast meeting. Most certainly, we also continued to focus on a number of other fundamentals (staff training and retention, technological testing and improvement, increased accounting acumen, etc.) but the results speak for themselves. American Diabetes Association So, with a continuing growth in membership and a continuing outreach through innovation and process improvement by sticking to the fundamentals we do believe…… “The award for BEST credit union in Eastern CT goes to CorePlus”! Keep Your Retirement Money Working If you would like to keep more of your retirement savings growing tax deferred and minimize your current tax bill, there are options to consider. Consolidate Your Retirement Savings into One IRA By transferring your retirement plan to an IRA, you have the ability to consolidate several different IRAs into a single account. Move Your Retirement Savings to Your New Employer’s Plan If your new employer allows it, this may be an attractive option for you. Keep Your Retirement Savings in Your Current Employer’s Plan You might consider leaving your retirement savings in the existing plan even after you have left the company. Understanding Your Options Review and discuss your options with an experienced Financial Advisor.
