Dear Stitchers,
Once again, my favorite season is upon us! With it's brisk weather, family traditions, and even the
hustle and bustle, I am always thrilled when autumn arrives! This summer and into the fall, we have
been excited to see so many stitchers coming back to the craft! Everyday we see an old friend that is
re-energized to complete projects and start new ones! Catching up with these friends in class and in
the shop has been so much fun for all of us at Needle House.
Also newly inspired, we are seeing creative and beautiful canvasses from all of our artists. I am excited
to introduce a Needlepoint Belt line that will be featured in an October Trunk Show as well as some
new artists for our Annual Stocking Show. We have so many canvasses right now that the walls are
bursting with exciting projects for you to choose from for this fall. You will notice lots of new colors in
threads and, of course, some ingenious new accessories for you to add to your collection! Our
bookshelf has some wonderful new titles that I have enjoyed exploring as well.
I found some special things at the New York Market that I am anxious to see in the shop. These boxes
of holiday surprises are arriving everyday. Please ask me to share a few with you next time you are at
Needle House. We have some great ideas for hostess gifts or stitching group gifts ~ 'Tis about to be
the season, after all!
I am introducing my "It's Delicious" light bulb series as the perfect companion to our "It's DeLightful"
series. This is a second offering of A Collection of Designs canvasses. I am thrilled that so many of you
are enjoying these fun projects.
We think they have interesting
stitch and thread combinations
and are quick to complete.

Needle House for you to see and it is available online as well. The
sampler is a great way to see how the stitches appear when they are executed with coordinating threads.

If it is Thursday, it must be Laurie Walden at Needle House! Spend the day stitching with
Laurie Thursday mornings and afternoons. Offering two sessions on every Thursday,
Laurie brings her considerable talents with threads, color, and stitches to the Needle
House teaching table. Call us at Needle House to check availability and register!

These are two-hour workshops concentrating on the application of special stitches and fibers to a
project of your choice purchased at Needle House. Sign up is on a first come, first serve basis.
Class fees are due upon registration and are non-refundable. If you have an emergency or conflict, we
will be happy to accommodate you as best we can, depending on the availability of classes. However,
you are always welcome to find your own substitute. Class fees are $20.00 for one 2-hour session.

Quick Stitch Variations

Here is a stitch that offers many different combinations
creating varied effects. Consider three different threads all in
the same, or similar color to create a beautiful dimensional
background.
One combination might be a Vineyard Silk for the darker
diagonal stitches, a Neon Rays for the lighter diagonal
stitches, and a Silk Lamé Braid for the Smyrna Cross. It would
not be difficult to compensate and might be just the thing to
add interest to a stocking cuff or a large background area.
This stitch would look great stitched with all one thread also ~
creating a interesting area that will drop back!
