Hats off to all of you for the incredible projects we see you working on each day at Needle House. Perhaps
it is the delightful weather this Spring in Houston that has inspired you to create so many masterpieces. I
have worked hard to fill the walls with fresh enticements for you to choose from at Needle House.
!
I have just returned from Needlepoint Market where I saw some exciting and different projects and
threads. Maybe you want to stitch a portrait for your special pooch this summer? Labors of Love has a
wonderful new set of dog portraits that might be just the thing for you!
!
Let’s not forget all the humans that we love so well! We have some fun new owls from Melissa Shirley
coming to Needle House as well as new Thanksgiving and Holiday designs. I was excited to add several
new artists at this market. We have received some of these new projects already and more are arriving by
the box load each day. How will we possibly make space for the exciting new threads that will soon be on
our walls? Just you wait and see as they are worth the effort!

Please keep checking your email and our website for the upcoming announcement of some new series at
Needle House. I am having so much fun creating new collections for you to enjoy! Do take time this
summer to pour yourself a tall lemonade and enjoy some stitching time!

Take some advice from this new book and “when they ask you where you’ve been, tell
them you’ve GONE STITCHING!” Not a bad suggestion from the authors of this month’s
featured book “got stitches?” Michele and Renee (The Gone Stitching Gals) have
created a new resource for all of us with detailed , color diagrams of multilayered
stitches. Complete with double layer, triple layer, and quadruple+ layer stitches, this
book will bring incredible interest to your next project. It also includes sections on
Trame and Trellis Stitches. These “Gals” have given us some fun things to try!

While we want you to savor every moment of your stitching time, the time
of year is coming for us to remind you about Needle House finishing
deadlines. Ornaments and stand-ups will be due by September 15th with
stockings due by October 1st in order for you to enjoy them at Christmas.
Please do not hesitate to ask after the deadline as we will accept items
until the finishers tell us they cannot complete any more for the 24th of
December. As always, we ask that you turn in parts of a set (nativity or
numerous ornaments) as you finish them so that the finishers do not
receive everything at one time. We will make sure that fabric and trims are
set aside for the rest of your items to match.

Spend the day stitching with Laurie every Thursday morning and/or afternoon.

Needle House teaching table. Call us at Needle House to check availability and

Nancy’s Workshops
These are two-hour workshops concentrating on the application of special stitches and fibers to a
project of your choice purchased at Needle House. Sign up is on a first come, first served basis.

Class fees are due upon registration and are non-refundable. If you have an emergency or conflict,
we will be happy to accommodate you as best we can, depending on the availability of classes.
However, you are always welcome to find your own substitute. Class fees are $20.00 for one 2-hour
session.

This will work beautifully for the background of an egg or ornament or on an actual basket Wherever you
use it, it will bring depth and dimension to your canvas. Try it with two threads, Mandarin Floss and
Kreinik , for added interest.
