Itinerary :
PHNOM PENH - KOMPONG CHAM - SNUOL - SEN MONOROM (MONDOLKIRI)
DAY 1

This is probably Cambodia’s most scenic drive from Phnom Penh. Mondolkiri is predominantly populated by minority hill
tribes with more than 12 different ethnic groups. Walk with the elephants of the Elephant Valley Project Mondulkiri and visit
Cambodia’s largest waterfalls. After 3 days in that quiet province where time goes slowly, drive back to Phnom Penh via the
charming town of Kratie along the river bank of the Mekong and see the rare Irrawady dolphins.
Depart Phnom Penh to Kompong Cham. Drive to Chhup, the biggest rubber plantation in the country, established during the
French colonial time by the French tire maker Michelin. Continue to Snuol where you will have lunch at local restaurant. Drive
to Sen Monorom, the province capital of the Mondolkiri province with scenery and a climate quite unlike anywhere else in the
country. Arrival in Sen Monorom in the late afternoon. Check in at hotel. Sen Monorom will be the base from which to explore
the surroundings hill tribe villages and the waterfalls.
Dinner and overnight at Mayura Hill Resort.

DAY 2

We leave Sen Monorom after breakfast and use vehicles of the EVP to travel to the nearby Elephant Valley Project which,

with the support of the Bunong villagers, rescues and treats domestic elephants who have suffered injury and abuse. Enjoy a
unique ‘Walking with the Herd for a day’ experience. You will be introduced to the herd of elephants and get to know more
about their history, character, behavior and body language while walking alongside them in their natural environment.
You will be able to feed the elephants buckets of bananas and bathe the elephants before watching them cover themselves
in mud again. After lunch, you will undertake a walking trek with the elephants through the stunning Mondulkiri countryside to
a waterfall for a refreshing swim and elephant bath. Later we return to Sen Monorom
Dinner and overnight at Mayura Hill Resort.

DAY 3

Breakfast at hotel.
Early morning, visit the local market where many of the Phnong people from the nearby villages are coming to trade with their
distinctive baskets they carry on their back. Then drive to the waterfall of Bou Sra about 40 km northeast from Sen Monorom.
This double drop waterfall is one of the largest and most impressive in Cambodia.
Lunch Box on site
On the way back see numbers of hill tribe villages and the scenic countryside.

DAY 4

Leave this isolated forested province and drive to Kratie via Snuol. Arrive in Kratie at lunch time and check in at hotel.
Lunch at local restaurant.
In the afternoon, city tour of this small provincial town with its good examples of sumptuous colonial architecture. This tiny
town on the Mekong is an unexpected delight, with a relaxing, indolent atmosphere. North of Kratie, visit Wat Phnom Sambok
to see the Buddhist monasteries and to enjoy the magnificent views of the surrounding countryside from the hilltop. Further
north stop at the best riverside vantage point from which to view the rare freshwater Irrawady dolphins which can be best
seen late afternoon. Drive back to Kratie and take a small ferry boat to the island of Koh Trong situated in the middle of the
Mekong River opposite Kratie town.

Accommodation at Rajabori Villas (10 Rooms only) on Koh Trong Island.

DAY 5

Take a ferry ride back to Kratie and drive via Snuol along rubber plantations to Kompong Cham.

Visit the Wat Nokor Pagoda with its ancient temple and modern style pagoda (12th century). Continue to Phnom Penh via
Prek Kdam. Drive to Udong and visit the various temples (if time permits).
Continue to Phnom Penh and transfer to hotel or airport.
