MATERIALS:
Knitting worsted yarn (Red Heart yarn, 1 skein 141 grams)
Crochet Hook, size 6 mm (US J10),
(Use a 6.5 or 7 if your tension is tight)
Darning needle
Ruler or measuring tape
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Chain 6, slip stitch to join and form a ring. Chain 3, 12 double crochet in the ring, slip stitch to
join. (13 stitches)
2. Chain 4, make 2 double crochet in each stitch across the row. Slip stitch to join. (26 stitches)
3. Chain 4, single crochet in the next stitch. Repeat across the row, slip stitch to join. (26 loops).
4. Single crochet in the next loop,* chain 4, single crochet in the next loop.
Repeat from * across the round, slip stitch to join.
5. Repeat row 4.
6. Make 2 single crochet in the next loop to position in the center of the loop. Chain 5, single
crochet in the next loop, across the round. Now work in a spiral (that means no slip stitch to
join, just keep making loops) .
7. Repeat making loops until the circle measures approximately
15 to 16 inches in diameter.
8. Make 2 single crochet in each loop across the round.
(Beginning the band).
9. Still working in the round. (Mark the beginning of row with a safety pin, or paper clip, or a
piece of yarn.)
Single crochet in each stitch across the round, for 4 rows.
10. Chain 3, double crochet in each stitch across the round. Slip stitch to join.
11. Chain 2, single crochet in each stitch across the round. Fasten off.
MAKE THE CORDS:
CHANGE THE CORD COLOR, CHANGE THE LOOK!
Chain 75, fasten off. Weave the ends of yarn into the chain. Pass the cord through the row of
double crochet stitches across the band. Tie into a bow.
