Knights News!
Have you noticed something new?
The Knights of Columbus Council 12769 next
meeting will be on Oct. 21st at 8pm. All Knights
with a 2015 travel card are welcome to join us in
the church cafeteria.
The council will begin their annual gently used coat and sweater
drive. Anyone who would like to donate, please leave any coats
or sweaters in the bins by the gift shop or by the door across
from the funeral home. Please do not leave any other clothing
items in the bins. Please drop them in the Catholic Charity
box by the cafeteria on Post Place. This year the Supreme
Knights of Columbus Council has asked subordinate councils to
consider participating in their “Coats for Kids Program” where
we designate a particular facility in the area and on Black Friday
distribute the coats collected to children in need, new and warm
jacket. The council has chosen the Franciscan Community
Development Center in Guttenberg. A coat costs $20 and if
anyone would like to purchase one for this distribution, please
make out a check to the Knights of Columbus 12769 with an
indication that it is for Coats for Kids. Mail to Knights of
Columbus P.O. Box 1016 Secaucus, NJ 07094 attn: Brian
Marmora,
As you may have noticed, we recently installed a
donation bin for Catholic Charities on our property.
In addition to all forms of used clothing, small
appliances, shoes, linens, sheets, towels, stuffed
animals, and books (no reference books) are accepted.
All of the items that you generously donate will be
sold and the proceeds will be used to support the
many programs for the needy as provided by Catholic
Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark. With the
changes in the weather, this is an ideal time to clean
out that closet. Catholic Charitis will report
periodically to us on how the funds are used.

everyone to bring candles (any shape
and size) and offer it at the Young
Adult Mass. Those same candles that
represent your prayers will be used on
Friday, October 30 at Mercy Night.
Mercy Night is an evening of adoration
in the style of the Emmanuel
Community. This is in response to
Pope Francis’ announcement of the
upcoming year as the Year of Mercy.
The seminarians of the Archdiocese of
Newark will lead us in an hour of
prayer, songs and meditation with the
exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.
Confessions will be available during
the prayer service. Refreshments
will be served at the end of Mercy
