Concurrent with the delivery, the company also announced the launch of its annual Think Yellow Go Green recycling campaign. “We are very pleased to partner with Island Shell again this year, a recycler committed to converting outdated directories into materials that are re-used locally, such as mulch and insulation, helping us further reduce our carbon footprint,” said Scott Szczekocki, regional director for Hawaii. “We also look forward to working with volunteers from our non-profit partner, the Lokahi Giving Project, the organization that will help staff our drop-off locations.” “The partnership with Berry’s Think Yellow, Go Green program is a great match for our organization’s objectives,” said Mariellen Jones, executive director of the Lokahi Giving Project. “A cleaner environment is something that benefits our entire community, and we’re excited to be a part of the campaign again this year.” Szczekocki said that in the last two years, Berry’s recycling campaigns across the islands have collected more than 160 tons of outdated directories for recycling. “The community response has been tremendous, and I look forward to another strong campaign this year.” In 2010, The Berry Company also transformed its business beyond its flagship print directory and traditional one-time a year contact approach, to a full-service agency providing a wide range of online solutions that reach consumers whenever they’re searching for local businesses.
