Learn to Ski at Snowy Range: (Single Airmen) December 5 We will depart Outdoor Recreation at 7 a.m. and return about 6 p.m. Saturday evening. Fee is $40 per person which includes transportation, 2 hour group lesson, all-day lift pass, and your ski or snowboard rental. You will be responsible for your own food. The snow isn’t going away anytime soon, so no matter your age, you might as well learn to ski. Snowy Range is the perfect option for beginners with shorter trails, fewer people and no Colorado mountain traffic! Cut Your Own Christmas Tree December 5 We will depart Outdoor Recreation at 8 a.m. and return late afternoon/ evening. Bring your lunch, warm clothes and gloves. Join us as we spend the day singing Christmas carols, playing in the snow and hunting for the perfect Christmas tree. Fee is $20 which includes a Christmas tree to take home and hot chocolate. If you have family members going that do not take a tree, the fee is only $10. Swim with the Fish at Denver Aquarium (RecOn) December 6 Whether you’ve only snorkeled at the local swimming pool or you’ve dived in the tropics, you’ll love the experience of swimming with the fish at the Downtown Aquarium, located in downtown Denver. Experience what it’s like to swim with a 400 lb. Queensland Grouper, a school of Cownose Rays Moray Eels, Red Drums, Nurse Sharks and 400 other exotic underwater animals in the Under the Sea exhibit. No experience needed. If you are comfortable in the water you will do just fine. The fee is $35 which includes your dive and transportation. We will depart Outdoor Recreation at 10:30 a.m. and return about 5 p.m. Snowy Range Family Ski trip December 12 Snowy Range is located in the beautiful Medicine BowRoutt National Forest. It offers 27 trails serving all abilities of skiers and riders with a vertical drop of 990 feet. We will depart Outdoor Recreation at 7 a.m. and return about 6 p.m. Fee is only $40, adults who just need a ticket (no lesson) will only pay $25. Price includes lift ticket, 2 hours of instruction, transportation and rental equipment. Celestial Seasonings/Butterfly Pavilion December 13 From raw ingredients to finished products, you’ll learn all about the wonderful world of tea and see how our wholesome products are blended, packaged and shipped. You’ll never look at tea the same way again! Join us for a 45 minute tour of the Celestial Seasonings tea factory in beautiful Boulder, Colorado. After the tour we plan to stop at the Butterfly Pavilion tropical rainforest where 1,600 butterflies rule the sky! Star Wars Premiere December 19 - 20 We’re heading to the AMC Dine-In Theater in Denver where you can enjoy the newest Star Wars film. Experience a new expanded menu, reclining seats and great company. Tickets and transportation are only $20 a piece or 2 for $35 Santa’s North Pole Adventure on the Georgetown Railroad December 19 Join Santa and his helpers aboard decorated, enclosed, heated coaches. Enjoy the snow covered shops and restaurants in Beautiful downtown Georgetown while spreading holiday cheer. Cost is $35 per person. Snowy Range Snowmobile trip: (Single Airmen) December 22 (TUESDAY) We will depart Outdoor Recreation at 6:30 a.m. and return approximately 2 p.m. Bring money for lunch and something warm to drink. Flick n Float Cost is $75 which includes protective winter gear, transportation and your snowmobile rental. Trip is limited to 10 people. Ski Winter Park December 23 (WEDNESDAY) Winter Park Resort is Colorado’s longest continually operated ski resort featuring over 3000 acres of award-winning terrain. Leave the driving to us so all you have to worry about is a beautiful day on the slopes! Depart Outdoor Recreation at 6 a.m. and return by 8 p.m. Cost is only $100 which includes lift ticket and rental equipment. Youth Christmas Break BRAT Winter Sports Days December 28-30 Three days of cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, tubing, and skiing (learn to ski). A $100 fee includes all equipment, admission, lift tickets, transportation and snacks for 3 full days of adventures, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Get off the couch this winter break! Pack a sack lunch and join us on a snowy adventure of a lifetime. Ski Utah (RecOn) Dec. 31 Jan. 3 Leaving early morning on the 31st in order to view the New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade and Fireworks at Snowbird. Participants will receive one day of skiing each at Snowbird/ Alta and Park City, we’ll be returning Sunday afternoon. With the recent expansion, Park City has become the largest resort in the United States with 7,300 acres of skiable terrain, 300+ trails, 38 lifts, seven terrain parks, 14 bowls, six natural half pipes, one super pipe and one mini pipe. Alta is for skiers, Snowbird is for everyone including the snowboarders. Trip includes breakfast and dinner on Friday and Saturday. We’ll be staying in a vacation rental home! Cost for this trip is $300. The class is limited to the first 20 kids to sign up. This is an instructional program designed to teach young kids the fundamentals of basketball. At least one parent is required to attend and assist each child in practicing the skills of the game. The cost is $35 per child and includes all practices and scrimmages, t-shirt for parent and child (additional t-shirts may be purchased for $12 each), basketball, and snacks after each session. The program will take place on Wednesdays, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 27 through Feb. 24. There is a parent meeting on Jan. 19, 6 p.m. All participants must be age 3 by Jan. 27, 2016.
