SAIPS Sporting News The Week Last week was a busy sporting week. The Sharks Swim Team competed in the Relay Gala on Friday at Phoenix and the Hockey Team was in action, on Saturday, at the Inter-schools Hockey Tournament, also at Phoenix. The Captains leading our teams this term are: Friday, 21st November 2014 Swimming: Samuel Everett and Rania Gaffar. Hockey: Patrick Mtileni and Ulunji Madinga. The Sharks swimming team achieved fourth place and performed strongly in the Under 10 Girls and Open Boys Age categories. Moving into the Hockey Tournament, all our teams have been undefeated in the fixtures during the term. With skill and determination, our “A” Boys and “B” Girls teams were victorious in their respective competitions and the “B” Boys team achieved Runners up. WELL DONE! Congratulations to our boy’s captain, Patrick Mtileni, who was awarded Most Valuable Player of the Tournament. 3A Assembly Inspired by our recent visit by the poet Nick Toczek, 3A have been busy learning a range of performance poems. Our performance began on a definite dragon theme with ‘The Dragon who ate our school’ and ‘The Child who pretended to be a Dragon’. We enjoyed energetic rapping to beat of ‘Boneyard Rap’ and ’Write a Rap Rap’. Our final poem was a well-known action poem where we were almost eaten by a bear! Our next assembly will be Nursery on Friday, 28th November at 7:15am. Tea and coffee available from 7:00am. All are welcome!
