than the previous years and a variety of trendy garments from local
and African designers will be showcased.
Shangase said established local designers who have contributed

their special fashion shows that will take place outside DEC.
The Municipality’s Arts, Craft and Fashion Manager, Sindi Shangase
said about 16 fashion shows that will leave attendees in awe at the
Durban Exhibition Centre (DEC).
She said the designers include Amanda Laird Cherry who will
showcase how her craft has evolved over the past 20 years at the
Durban Art Gallery and Zama Mathe of Zarth Designs who will host a
garden fashion show at 129 Lambert Road in Morningside.
Shangase urged the public to support the City’s vision of unlocking
the economic opportunities in the creative industry by buying the
tickets and come out in numbers to support local talent.
