14 Wing Community Recreation Centre Did you know that physical activity helps kids enhance self-esteem, reduce stress and alleviate depression? Set a child up for success today! recreation Spring Sport & Recreation Fair 14 Wing Community Centre March 28th, 2015 2:00pm to 5:00pm It’s that time of year again to start thinking about spring and summer activities and get REGISTERED! Join us at the 14 Wing Community Centre Gym for our spring registration fair on March 28th from 2:00pm-5:00pm. This is your chance to sign up for Soccer, baseball, spring skating, swimming lessons, youth bowling, ceramics, tennis and much more! WHY WAIT? Embrace winter, and PLAY TODAY!” Winter can be a joyous season for people of all ages. Those who embrace it know what makes it so wonderful. The beauty of a glistening snowfall, the thrill of sports like skiing and skating, the reward of a frothy hot chocolate after a day of winter fun. When the cold winter snap hits, our motivation to stay physically active invariably plummetsespecially when it comes to outdoor activity. By decreasing our physical activity, we're essentially 'hibernating' our hearts, which is not good for them. Hearts need regular exercise and winter weather affords us many fun options for physical activity. We don’t need to wait for summer to arrive; embrace winter and PLAY today! Each year there are brave souls who embrace winter and participate in a “Polar Bear Swim.” You don’t have to go to that extreme to enjoy traditional summer activities, during the winter. Here are just a few We will also have fun activities for the children on site. For more information or to register your club to take part please call Kelly at 902-765-1494 loc. 5337 *** Don’t forget to ask for your child’s physical activity tax credit receipt. All of our programs are eligible!!! ***** ideas that you and your family can enjoy now, instead of waiting for summer to arrive, to get those hearts pumping: Hiking in the Woods Soccer in the Snow Touch Football in the Snow Game of Tag Walking the dog. No matter which activity you prefer, when you choose recreation that encourages you to move your body and engage in your community, you will reap the rewards.
