Welcome to HCSC 2008
Dear participants and friends of Home Composed Song Contest,
as winner of HCSC 2007 with "WARRIOR OF LOVE" (Randi Knobloch / Tato Gomez
Stefan Engel) it was a pleasure and honour to organize and host this year's edition
of OGAE Home Composed Song Contest from the Free and Hanseatic City of
Hamburg / Germany. For the second time in HCSC history this competition for
amateur composers, lyricists and singers was held online:
www.hcsc2008.eu 01.09. - 31.10.2008.
33 songs submitted by 25 teams of 11 countries were competing to win this year's
song contest and to receive a beautiful trophy, made of glass to remember a
magnificent victory! On 3rd of November Randi and I, we proudly presented all
incoming votes in ESC style within a 30 minutes video show, called the VOTING
SHOW, which was followed all over Europe by internet. To remember this exciting
event the voting show (three parts) will remain online:

At this point I would like to thank Stella Floras (www.esctoday.com) and Jürgen (JP)
Börnig (www.RadioInternational.tk) for their support and promotion of HCSC 2008.
Within two weeks more than 4.600 visitors voted for their favourite songs and more
than 20.000 internet users clicked on the official homepage, which was created by
Phillip Lempelius, who supported me in web hosting.
Over the years, besides being an amateur song contest, the OGAE Home Composed
Song Contest has been transformed into a modern medium to present the efforts of
amateur music to find a platform to share and celebrate our dream to create music
to touch everybody's heart. And who knows, it might be just a small step for one of
us to place a unique song for the Eurovision Song Contest

At times like this, we should all care about our
planet. Nature seems to start fighting back mankind,
who has made so many mistakes in the past
decades concerning the environment. Inspired by
a piece of music by my dear friend Ian Coleen, I
composed this little melody and wrote the lyrics in
collaboration with my creative friend tEEgEE.
Usually my music is about me, myself and I my
debut album self-supported superstar is conceived
to be the counter balance to the era of casting
dominated music, and as the title reveals, its all
about personal ambition.
This time I liked to focus on a more universal
subject, yet one with great substance. I couldn´t
think about a more important topic than nature.

Yakup Mutlu is 20 years old guy who lives in
Turkey:) I go to university in Manisa for food
engineering and I love Eurovision. I am a big fan
after 2003 with winning of Sertab :) I am stuck on
ESC and I compose songs for Eurovision mostly
in Turkish or in English. My biggest dream is to be
a singer behind composer and lyricist...and
represent my country in Eurovision.
Levent is 19 years old guy who lives in Akþehir...He
goes to the same university with me in Manisa and
he was my hostel mate :)

Boban Djekic, born in a small town close to
Belgrade, started singing in his early childhood. In
1995 he performed first time in public and took
part in several music festivals in former Yugoslavia.
Nowadays he shuttles between Serbia and
Germany, where he works as a photographer and
technician. As a European citizen, Boban feels
close to both cultures, but in his music you will feel
the heat and passion of Serbia.

Vulnerable are Ray Holt, Martin Faulkner and Andrew Donaldson. Formed in Newcastle upon Tyne,
UK , in May 2000 from the ashes of the comedy group B.G.H.B., Vulnerable is a rock band with a
unique concept. The three members currently live in Edinburgh, Leeds and London, meaning that
their songs are mostly recorded separately and worked on via the Internet and at occasional meetings.
Plans are finally afoot for the band's first ever live gig! Meanwhile, they recorded the Internet-only
Defeat By Deceit E.P. last year, with free distribution via outlets such as MySpace and Last.fm. A
follow-up E.P. is currently in preparation.

Mama fly with the angels now
Mauro is a 21 years old. He was born in Malta on 15th April 1987. From a
very young age mauro started singing and from that day on he never looked
back. His singing tutor was Ms Helen micallef which she represent Malta in
the eurovision song contest 1972. Mauro took part in several shows around
Malta and this year he was hosting a radio program in a local station.
Mauro works as a hairdresser and have his own business.

Switzerland has gone pink...
With an electronic fusion of the east & the west, Lukmi
vs. Mazarra hope to give Switzerland their first victory
in the OGAE Home Composed Song Contest!
The song is sung mainly in English however has a few
words in Bulgarian, Greek, Portuguese and even
Indonesian. The music & lyrics of the song were written
by Lukmi, a pretty pink fairy (princess), who is known
for his outrageous lyrics & insanely catchy melodies.
He's no stranger to the world of electropop (or homopoppi
as he calls his music) and sure this song is his best yet!
Lukmi is from Australia, with an Indonesian background
with a love for Balkan music. He teams with Mazarra, a
singer/songwriter of more traditional pop-folk, she hopes
to add her own traditional Swiss spice to the song.
This song was written for the purpose of giving Europe
a fun & energetic song that everyone can enjoy. Mazarra
is a proud Swiss living in the United Kingdom, loving
Balkan music too, especially Bulgarian Chalga. When
you listen, close your eyes and think of lust, sweat and
joy.

In front of everyone, and now's the time to say
After their debut in the 2007 Home Composed Song Contest, 'londonvision'
return with an entry that pays homage to love, the Swedish schlager and
the Eurovision Song Contest itself.
The song is in English and Swedish, the first language of schlager. Fans
will spot references to Eurovision in both the music and the lyric, but beneath
the surface, the song has a special story to tell. Ingenting kan stoppa mig'
is about two lovers taking their first steps on the dance floor upon becoming
civil partners, having never imagined that such a day would arrive.
londonvision' is a group of Eurovision fans based in London, UK, who come
together with a shared love of pop music and European languages and
culture. Lead members are Andy Brook, originally from York, who arranged
and produced the track and Helsinki-born Tiina Kolehmainen, who features
on lead vocals. Besides English, their portfolio includes songs in Spanish,
Catalan and now Swedish.

I am Andreas Nilsson from Sweden. Im 25 years old and a member of OGAE Sweden since 2005.
Ive always been a fan of the Melodifestivalen and Eurovision Song Contest, but didnt realize that I
was a fan/addict of the contests until 1999. Ive tried to enter Melodifestivalen three times (2006,
2007 and 2008 but didnt manage it there). But now I try my luck in Home Composed Song Contest
instead with two songs that Ive sent in to Melodifestivalen.

Samuel Bugia is 25 years old and lives in A Coruña, a city in the northwestern
of Spain. He studied English language and literature at the University of A
Coruña and Music and Piano at the Music School in the city. Today He
teaches languages and literature to teenagers that need help with their
studies at high school and He also works in three local radios in his city.
Since 1997 he plays music with friends, and it becomes more serious in
2001 when he starts to sing with his friend Maria Ollari, forming the MEL
Band. They record a demo cd with some songs and give some concerts in
the city. From 2005 to 2007 they send songs to the Spanish Selection for
Eurovision Song Contest without success. In 2008 Samuel sent a song for
the Spanish Selection, being supported by the local media and he is the 55
from more than 530 participants.
Samuel Bugia loves Eurovision since He was a child. Every year he gives
a party at home with his friends to watch the Contest. He is member of the
Ogae Spain fan club since the beginning of this year. Samuel hopes to be
at Eurovision Song Contest some day, as performer or composer or a good
song.

normally creates dance & house music. For the
HCSC 2008 he worked with his sister Tina on the
song "Spiel nicht mit meinen Gefühlen". The
interesting fact about the collaboration is the mix
of dance & house in combination with the more
"schlager"-like attitude of Tina. The song is about
a young girl who feels disappointed of her love of
the life.
Danzel is an Eurovision Fan for decades already,
and tunes in to this event and its changes with high

Im Felix Penk, a Singer/Songwriter from Cologne, Germany. Ive been writing songs since I was a child.
You will find me doing some straight forward mainstream pop with strong melodies, but also different,
uncommon songs and sounds. Now I am 32 years old, and now that I quit my first job, I take another
chance to concentrate on music. "Sound Alarm!" is a mainstream synth pop song. The story is about
someone who's so hot, that you just wish you could call the firemen if he/she gets closer. Exactly this

Dimitrios plays the piano and the cello, and he has finished his studies on

Marcus Björkander is 32 years old, born and raised in Halmstad, Sweden,
but living in Gothenburg, Sweden, since 1995. He works as the head
programmer at a small IT company, is married and recently became a father
for the first time. He is active in Melodifestivalklubben, OGAE Sweden. Song
writing has been a big part of his life for several years, where he has been
writing songs in collaboration with various people, mostly focusing on
composing the music and letting others write the lyrics. Marcus took part in
the OGAE Home Composed Song Contest already last year, finishing 8th
together with OGAE Home Composed Song Contest veteran Annika Jansson
with the song "Stick och brinn".
Josef Boström is a 27 year old full-time student born and raised in Gothenburg,
Sweden, where he also, until recently, was the local contact person for the
Swedish branch of OGAE - Melodifestivalklubben. He has been engaged
in many other projects concerning the Melodifestivalen, for example as a
reporter for OGAE Sweden during the semifinal of the Melodifestivalen in
Gothenburg in 2007. He has been working with several projects linked to
music, for instance many lyrics to the songs written by Marcus Björkander.
Mainly, he writes the lyrics but he has been known to occasionally compose
music as well.

Hi everyone. I take part in the Home Composed Song Contest for the
7th time. I won the competition in 1996, 1999 and 2000, where i
represented Denmark, and in 2002, 2003 and 2004, I represented
Norway. Now I sing for Denmark again. I play keyboard and sing, and
I have been singing since I was 10 years old. I write a lot of songs and
still hope, I will get the chance to take part in the danish preselection
for Eurovision Song Contest and maybe even get the chance to represent
Denmark in ESC;) I have been taking part in a lot of talentcontests and

Skin2Skin is the name of a project I started in the year of 1998 with a few friends. I have always been

My second HCSC entry is Fire of the night. I hope this song appeals to everyone emotionally. This
song is about the hope that there may be someone somewhere in the universe, who feels and thinks
like you and about the longing that we once will meet him or her. This song calls upon you to go on
the search for your personal fire of the night. In this spirit I wish a lot of pleasure in listening the song!

At the moment I study sport and art in Essen , North-Rhine/Westphalia, but
my dream is to be a musician, singer and violinist.
I wrote "simple words" as a romantic Ballad without drums, carried by a violin.
It describes the moment of your life where you meet the right person. Except
the guitar (Lara Koprivica) all instruments are played by me.
