Then GlobeQuest is for you! GlobeQuest is a new program at
Columbia Bible College developed to serve people who want
to enjoy travel, adventure, and learning with a group of other
enthusiastic, fun-loving, active adults.
Our spring 2012 trip explores the exotic South Pacific
paradise of Indonesia where lifetime memories are just
waiting to be made. With over 17,500 islands you will
be immersed in the rich cultural heritage, distinct
religious influences, and the fascinating and diverse
geography of this tropical wonderland.
The engaging island hospitality of three unique
regions in this nation of islands is something
hard to describe, yet amazing to experience. Our
journey begins and ends at the Denpasar Airport
on the well-known island of Bali – the only region
of this expansive Muslim country where Hinduism
flourishes. A couple of nights in nearby Kuta at a
quaint and cozy
family-operated
Balinese hotel
will introduce you
to the warm and
congenial people
of Bali and their
relaxed, beach-side
lifestyle.
A short flight will transport us to Bandung, West
Java, where we’ll enjoy a week of comfort at a chic
boutique hotel and spa. Days will be filled engaging
the Indonesian culture watching local craftsmen
and shopping in bustling clothing markets and malls, visiting
historical and cultural sites, meeting with local business
entrepreneurs in faith-based enterprises, and exploring
rugged volcanoes, tropical forests and lush rice paddies.
Evenings provide opportunities to experience exquisite
cuisine in unique and delightful dining venues that will be
forever etched in your memory. Poolside relaxation is always
an option that’s just outside your room.
