products manufactured by MW…the screen factory
and correspond to the technical standards of DIN
19045, 1-5/ DIN 4102 B2/EN 13501-1. These screens

The Type of Screen
Before you decide to purchase a screen,
you need to know whether it will be permanently installed in a room or whether
it needs to be used in different locations.
The wide MEDIUM screen range provides
an appropriate screen for any presentation requirement. Thanks to excellent flat
surfaces and reflection properties MEDIUM
screens produce perfect projected images.

The Screen Size
Generally, the rule of thumb is:
쐍 the minimum distance from the screen
to the front row of seats = 1.5 times the
width of the screen
쐍 the maximum distance for the audience
= 6 times the width of the screen
쐍 for a seated audience the lowest part
of the screen should be 90–120 cm
from the floor
Type D Screen Surfaces (d=diffuse)
쐍 equally scatter the light in all
directions (horizontally and vertically)
쐍 have a matt white surface
쐍 facilitate a good viewing angle up to
45° r/l of the projection axis and an
admissible viewing angle up to 55–60°
쐍 have a measured gain factor of 1–1.2
(acc. to DIN 19045)

of ambient light or when large screen
surfaces are required.

Type S Screen Surfaces (s=specular)
쐍 reflect the light along the projection
axis twice as brightly as type D
쐍 have a mother-of-pearl tint
쐍 facilitate very good/very bright viewing
conditions up to 30–40° r/l of the
projection axis
쐍 have a measured gain factor of 1.8–2.4

Each projection method has its own particular ratio of height to width. The most

The Projector
Type D screens are mainly suited for
medium to high brightness projectors
(2,000 ANSI lumens and above) in rooms
that can be partially darkened. The
projection surface should not exceed
approx. 5 m2.
The Screen Surface
The reflective characteristics of a screen
surface are defined as the gain factor:
쐍 The higher the gain factor, the more
restricted the viewing angle.
The Screen Size
1 Width of projection screen
2 Recommended height for lower edge of the screen,
90–120 cm
3 Minimum distance: 1.5 times the projection width
4 Maximum width: 6 times the projection width
5 Viewing angle of 45–50°
6 Viewing angle of 30–40°

Both the installation frame and the
installation housing are the perfect match
to RollFix Premium projection screens.
They can conveniently and unobtrusively
be mounted into suspended ceilings.
Both solutions offer an integrated, easy
access for revision purposes.

screens so that a professional large-screen
projection can be conveyed.

the MaxxScreen Panorama can be
manufactured up to a size of 20 metres
width and 7 metres height in standard
production with a seamless projection

Rear projection: in case of rear projection,
the projector is placed behind the projection
screen which is used e.g. in studios.
Rear projection screens are chosen where
the projection light would be bothersome in
the audience room. The spectators are able
to view a uniform, bright and brilliant
projected image. Since the light is mainly led
in direction of the audience, the spectators
get the impression of very brightly projected
images. Ambient light from the direction of
the projection device should be avoided.
