Dam sealing at the power plant in Pucking next to the river Traun
Dam sealing at the power plant in Pucking In the course of regular checks on the dams of a power plant in Pucking next to the river Traun leaks in the area of the existing bitumen sealing, at the dam base and the sealing wall itself were discovered at the upstream side. 290,5 m 289,3 m Dam axis Retention water level elevation ▲ Triple Mixing tool in use Investor: Energie AG, Linz Contractor: Felbermayr Bau GmbH & Co KG, Wels 32-38Ei Statics: BHM Ingenieure, Linz Works: • 6.250 m² DSM Cut-off wall • 1.770 m² Soilcrete® Cut-off wall Time of execution: January - March 2010 Keller Grundbau Ges.m.b.H Wienerstraße 131, Eingang A, Top 09.03 4020 Linz Tel.+43 732 341658 Fax +43 732 341659 E-mail:[email protected] www.KellerGrundbau.at Existing cut-off wall DSM-wall Ground water table 280,0 m impermeable layer For this reason the planers designed a front sealing wall consisting of a new sealing wall head and partial renewed bitumen sealing. Keller Grundbau‘s job was to execute the sealing wall works with the Deep-Soil-Mixing method. In areas with stones the sealing wall was constructed with the Soilcrete® Jet-Grouting method. In order to assure quality and erosion stability of the used sealing wall grout a great number of compressive strength and permeability checks was executed in the constructed sealing wall. All of the tests delivered good results. Using multiple mixing tools, the enormous time required for the execution of the construction works was reduced to a few weeks. The hand-over to the client could take place even before spring.
