A Message From Our President
Welcome, and thank you for taking time to review our current product catalog. This is truly
an exciting time of unparalleled growth for our industry! Ice skating and hockey are rapidly

Bill Burley
1931-2012
A true pioneer in the industry,
Bill enjoyed a lengthy career
spanning more than 50 years. He
began skating as a child at local
rinks in New York City, later going
on to skate for the Ice Capades
and numerous skating shows. In
the 1970’s he moved his family to
Johnstown, where he opened
Ideal Park - a recreational park
with a swimming pool and ice
skating rink. After years of
success, he was forced to close
Ideal Park and sell the ice rink
equipment. This marked the
beginning of Burley’s Rink Supply.
Noticing a real opportunity
existed, Bill and his son John
continued buying and selling used
rink equipment. Before long,
Burley’s Rink Supply had become
a full rink construction company,
complete with manufacturing and
installation. At it’s peak, Burley’s
Rink Supply employed nearly 150
people and achieved sales
reaching $10 million annually.
Up until his death Bill was a
regular around the office, where
his legacy lives on with one of the
world leading installers of ice
rinks. His countless stories, witty
demeanor, and love for all things
skating endeared him to many. He
took special pride in his
relationships with others and
goodwill toward his fellow man.
He will be dearly missed by all
who had the pleasure of knowing
him.

Energy Efficiency: How It’s Measured
Energy efficiency can be defined by the refrigeration system’s ability to produce cooling effect
(in tons) in relation to the electricity consumed (in kilowatts). Regardless of the application, the
design goal is to produce the maximum amount of tons per kilowatt from the system. The
KW/ton ratio produced by the GreenMachine is unbeatable by any other system.
High-Performance, Air-Cooled Condensers
or Water-Cooled Condensers
Selection of an air-cooled system versus a water-cooled condenser system depends on many
factors, such as location and seasonal length of operation. Your Everything Ice design consultant
will help you with the selection process.
Air-cooled condensers feature very large coil areas for peak energy performance with multiple
fans for reduced horsepower fan operation during low chilling loads or extremely cold outside
weather.
Water-cooled condensers are sized for the lowest condensing temperature possible and
feature dual speed, power-saving fan motors for reduced fan horsepower during normal ice-load
conditions. The power-saving fan arrangement permits a 3 horsepower fan to do the same work
as a 10 horsepower fan from other suppliers.

rinks. All chillers come with an
accompanying pump skid, which
includes glycol pumps, electrical
control panel, valves and fittings.
Air cooled chillers are more
affordable compared to water cooled
and evaporative condenser type
systems, which are more commonly
used for year-round rinks. These units
offer unmatched efficiency with all

If your seasonal setup requires
flexible chiller storage during the

Floor heaving from frost and expanding soil materials is a serious matter when constructing an
ice rink. Rinks that operate year-round or for extended seasons should install a sub-soil heating
system to avoid potential problems. Frost heaving could destroy a complex and should not be
taken lightly. Frost Shield is a subsoil heating system placed beneath the rink floor to eliminate
this condition.
Frost Shield is encased within a sand layer below the floor insulation membrane. The piping
system is a seamless all poly fusion welded system that eliminates all mechanical joints under the
floor. This provides a lifetime of reliable operation! An anti-freeze solution is circulated through
the Frost Shield piping which is derived from the refrigeration system’s discharge heat.
Quality Ice Rink Floors Start with a Good Foundation

In construction, the quality of
the finished product is
determined by the quality of the
foundation. This is especially
true when building ice-rink
floors. The fine grading process
done on the lower-sand layer is
often regarded as the single
most important factor affecting
the quality and energy efficiency
of the ice sheet. Having a
perfectly level, compacted base
on which to build a rink is even
more important to the outcome
of the floor than the rink-piping
system.
An Everything Ice technician drives the machine over the rink bed. The laser control does the
work, readjusting the blade every half-second. The outcome is a true and consistent floor that
measures dead-level over the entire ice sheet.

Fusion Ice is the next generation of
innovation from Everything Ice. For years,
the standard bearer for concrete floor
systems has been thin walled HDPE
piping connected to a steel header and
steel u–bends with mechanical fasteners.
While these types of system are tried and
true, overall they lack the integration,
strength, and durability of the newer
technology used in Fusion Ice. Using the
same fusion welding process used for
gas, industrial power, mining and water
work industries, Fusion Ice brings a new
sense of reliability and worry-free
operation that you have come to expect
from Everything Ice.

Fusion Ice can be installed as part
of a permanent concrete rink floor,
or even as a sand rink floor. If your
facility requires year-round ice,
reliability and worry-free operation
then Fusion Ice is the system for

Fusion Ice has several advantages over steel header concrete floor piping systems. These
advantages include:
• 100% corrosion proof
• No mechanical fasteners; all connections are fusion welded creating a monolithic system free
of any joints.
• Leak proof; the Fusion Ice floor system will never leak due to corrosion or movement
from expansion and contraction.
• Fusion welding produces welds that are as strong, if not stronger than the
tubing itself.
• Better abrasion resistance means less friction for the secondary coolant, which in turn

tubing is socket welded into preinstalled header tees. U–bends are
then socket welded into place
followed by a perimeter loop to

Lays Perfectly Flat
Perma Ice is pre-fabricated in 4’ wide rolls, making installation fast and easy. Each roll consists
of 32 heat transfer tubes spaced every 1-1/2”. Because of the size and location of the Perma Ice
heat transfer tubes, the floor can be fed with an “in-floor, mid-rink header,” or an end-feed

Hundreds of arenas across the world are experiencing the energy saving benefits of a lowemissivity ceiling. A low-e ceiling works because the material it is made of has a very low
potential to transfer radiant energy. Since your arena ceiling is always warmer than your ice
surface, there is a constant transfer of radiant energy to the ice. When a low-e ceiling is installed
over the ice sheet, the heat load on the ice sheet can be reduced by as much as 20%.
Arena Shield is our puck-proof, fiberglass reinforced, low-emissivity scrim material. This
material is ideal for new building applications or existing buildings that already have an insulated
roof structure. Arena Shield can either be laminated to fiberglass batt insulation material (for

More than just ice...
EventDeck
EventDeck Ice modules connect on all sides using our uniquely engineered inter-module
connection system. This creates a rigid and seamless floor that will not move around or slide on
the ice. The inter-connecting system also allows EventDeck Ice to self-align, meaning skilled labor
is not needed to ensure the flooring tiles are lined up correctly.
Each EventDeck Ice module is
composed of two separate pieces
connected to form a single
module. The pieces trap air
inside, thereby insulating the
floor, keeping the top surface
warm and helping to prevent
condensation. The flat bottom
piece is designed to eliminate ruts
in the ice from waffle type
designs and to provide traction to
prevent tile slipping. This design
allows for partial installations of
the floor while maintaining a
sturdy surface. Pre-assembled 3’
X 4’ sheets, weighing less than 20
lbs each, are easy to handle
during installations and
breakdowns.
EventDeck Ice is manufactured
using a hi-impact polypropylene
plastic, giving it a high
compressive strength which can
accommodate weight loads of up
to 20,000 lbs. per square foot
static load, with no absorption of
moisture. The plastic composition
means there is never an issue of
splintering, which happens with
fiberglass based products, and
there is no need for safety
equipment for workers handling
the material.

an integrated connection system with
side and corner cam locks.
Each section has a useable surface area of 42” x 42” and a 2” thickness, thus providing
maximum rigidity and surface protection. No other system has been as comprehensively
engineered to handle the rigors of concert and arena use, nor do they incorporate the
functionality, features, and capabilities of the ArmorDeck Ice system.
