Manual Mobility
“Have you ever had the pleasure of a custom-fitted suit? I highly recommend it. The sun shines
brighter, the birds sing sweeter, and the business of the day just rolls off without leaving a wrinkle.”
– Archibald Leach
Everything feels better with a custom fit. Freedom of movement takes on a higher level of awareness
when your Mobility Plus wheelchair is custom made to your exact measurements. Your arms seem to
have more power and your manoeuvrability will be so enhanced that you’ll notice the difference and so
will everybody around you.
Mobility Plus’ custom-made system goes far beyond taking stock pieces from a library of
pre-made parts. We gather precise information, not just your measurements, but your pushing style,
favourite seating position and personal lifestyle preferences. Remember also we can craft anything
from folding and fixed frame manual wheelchairs to child sizes or specialised sports wheelchairs.
Once this information is all assembled and approved, only then do our craftsmen go to work.
Each element of the frame is made to exacting tolerances to ensure perfect
fit and the materials used are the finest available for long-term durability.
Whilst we understand your desire to get into your unique wheelchair as soon as you can, we will not
compromise our craftsmanship for the sake of time. Even in these days of
instant gratification, quality still takes time.
With our precision, custom-made wheelchairs,
every one still has the inbuilt provision of
fine-tuning to make it just perfect. There is
also a vast array of accessories, seats,
wheels and parts to individualise
each wheelchair.
There is something extra
satisfying in the knowledge
that this wheelchair was
made just for you, to
optimise your
independence.
There is not another
one like it in the world!

Sports Wheelchairs
Fitness, for those with disabilities, is just as important an issue as in the wider
community. Sport benefits health in many ways, as well as improving self-esteem and
providing a social outlet.
Mobility Plus specialises in wheelchairs for the three major participatory wheelchair
games of tennis, basketball and rugby.
The basis of the sport chairs is our famous Elite model, which is a fully
made-to-measure all-welded frame for the lightest possible wheelchair with
incredible strength and manoeuvrability.
The Elite is then modified to the requirements of the various sports. We are also able
to build custom designed wheelchairs for other specialised sports such as track racing
chairs that are made to the athlete’s requirements.
Mobility Plus has put much painstaking research into the set-up of sports chairs and
come up with numerous innovations, many of which are now imitated around the world
by other wheelchair builders. We are complimented time and time again.

Sports Wheelchairs:
Tennis
Fitness, for those with disabilities, is just as important an issue
as in the wider community.
Sport benefits health in many ways, as well as improving self
esteem and providing a social outlet.
The game of wheelchair tennis is a fast and fluid sport.
At its best, it’s exciting and graceful, but for most it’s just
great fun.
Mobility Plus has specialised in tennis wheelchairs for many
years and some of the top ranked players in the world, past
and present, use wheelchairs built by Mobility Plus.
The basis of the tennis chair is our acclaimed Elite model, which
is a fully made-to-measure, all-welded frame for the lightest
possible wheelchair with incredible strength and manoeuvrability.
There are many different configurations for tennis wheelchairs,
and this is decided during the measuring process to enhance
personal game preferences.
Mobility Plus has put much painstaking effort into the set-up
of tennis wheelchairs and come up with numerous innovations,
many of which are now imitated around the world by other
wheelchair builders. This certainly shows the quality of the
research undertaken by Mobility Plus.
It makes no difference whether you’re one of the world’s top
players with a Mobility Plus tennis chair built for ultimate speed,
or just a weekend warrior. Your Mobility Plus tennis wheelchair
is still skilfully custom-made, just for you, in the same precise
way.
Features Include:
• Custom made
• Built for ultimate speed
• Has incredible strength &
manoeuvrability.

Sports Wheelchairs:
Basketball
People who use wheelchairs often lack aerobic fitness.
The game of wheelchair basketball is fast and furious;
great for aerobic fitness.
Participants have the added bonus of a team environment
which benefits self-esteem and social connections as well as
health and fitness.
Mobility Plus has specialised in basketball wheelchairs from
the inception of the company. We have developed “the wing”,
a specialised crash-bar carefully designed to both prevent
“hooking” the wheelchairs by other competitors and to protect
the feet from injury due to the frequent collisions that occur
during the game.
The model on which the basketball wheelchair is built
is our famous Elite design.
The Mobility Plus Elite is a true custom made-to-measure
wheelchair. All joints are welded so there are no bolts to work
loose. This is also the mode of construction for the lightest
possible frame, using either light-weight tempered aluminium
alloy tubing or ultra-light, ultra-strong titanium.
These chairs have a strength-to-weight ratio that is unmatched,
making them beautifully responsive, fast as lightning, and
amazingly strong.
Mobility Plus has put extensive research into the set-up of
sports chairs, and in consultation with you, our expert
technicians custom build a basketball wheelchair that is just
the way you want it, making your game the best it can be.
Features Include:
• Incredibly strong and responsive
• Designed to prevent hooking
with other wheelchairs
• Designed to protect the feet

Sports Wheelchairs:
Rugby
Wheelchair rugby is fast, rough and tough.
Tackling is achieved by “blocking” the player with the ball with
your own wheelchair. Therefore, the rugby wheelchairs have
to be incredibly strong – and armour-plated.
The Mobility Plus “Elite” rugby wheelchair frame is incredibly
strong because it is welded and then heat treated. As none
of the joints are bolted together, they cannot work loose
under the constant barrage of collisions during the game.
The specially developed “rugby wing” on the wheelchair is
an armour-plated crash-bar, designed to protect the occupant,
and carefully planned to prevent “hooking” wheelchairs
with other participants.
As with all Mobility Plus Sports wheelchairs,
the rugby chair is custom-made to the
measurements and ability of the athlete to
enhance manoeuvrability and speed.
Wheelchair sport is great for fitness and
self-esteem, and the Mobility Plus Elite rugby
wheelchair will provide participants with many
years of fun and safe game time while
building their strength and endurance.
Features Include:
• Incredibly strong and armour-plated
• Designed to protect the occupant
• Custom-made

Special Custom
Wheelchairs
Every now and then somebody comes along that
doesn’t fit any mould.
At Mobility Plus we are geared to aid these special people with
their families and carers, to get the most from their lives.
In conjunction with our other area of expertise in postural
support and pressure care, we will undertake a precise
measuring and postural evaluation process.
After that our craftsmen will construct a wheelchair to the exact
needs of that special person. This can involve moulded seats
and other specialised postural supports or safety harnesses, as
well as many variations to the design of the wheelchair frame
itself.
As they usually cannot push themselves, the wheelchair must
either be electrically powered, or be very easy for the carer or
family member to push. On manual wheelchairs, we provide
a variety of handle options and mechanisms to aid carers and
familiy members with wheelchair mobility.
The flexibility of our processes and the skill of our craftsmen
ensure that we can build to the requirements of people with
special needs.

TGA Wheelchair
Powerpack: Series 4
Standard Single Wheel Version:- The Series 4 TGA Powerpack
is a light-weight add-on drive that takes the effort out of
pushing a manual wheelchair. It is very compact, and can be
easily fitted to almost any standard wheelchair.
The Series 4 Wheelchair Powerpack has an ultra-reliable
12 volt 160 watt motor and gearbox which are capable of
propelling loads of up to 115 kilograms.
The ergonomically-designed handlebar control is a direct
replacement for the standard wheelchair handlebar grips, and
the easy-to-use controls feature a thumb-operated speed
control lever and a pre-set governor limiting maximum speed.
There are handlebar extensions available and right or left-hand
control is optional.
The very latest micro-processor technology is used in the
electronic control system, which incorporates a host of safety
features, including electronic traction control, to ensure a
smooth start without jerks or wheelspin.
The 12 volt 20 ah batteries have a range of 16 kilometres at a
maximum speed of 6 kph, and there is an on/off light with
battery charge indicator of green, through amber, to red.
The Series 4 Powerpack has a total weight of only 13
kilograms and packs into an optional carry-bag with matching
lifting strap, so it’s light and easy enough to take anywhere
giving that extra mobility from car boot right through to aircraft.

Samson Power
Drive: PD6
The PD6 wheelchair drive is a compact, light-weight, add-on
motor system that takes the strain out of pushing a manual
wheelchair for any care-giver. Not only does the PD6 make
light work of pushing a manual wheelchair up a slope, it also
reduces the risk on descending slopes with its dynamic
braking system.
The complete PD6 unit is easily installed on most manual
wheelchairs.
The ergonomic positioning of the push-handles is optimal for
steering and operation of the wheelchair by the carer, while the
speed is continuously adjustable up to 5 kilometres per hour.
A reverse gear is also available.
There is a choice of 7A/h or 10 A/h batteries.
The battery pack is easily removed by lifting its carrying
handle, and then the PD6 can be folded down for easy
transportation.
The PD6 has some operational safety parameters such as a
maximum negotiable curb of 5 cm, maximum working load of
120 kilograms and a maximum admissible slope of 90 or 16%.
The PD6 has been carefully designed so that it fits on most
wheelchairs but care-givers will tell you that the most
important feature is its ease of operation.
Power is supplied by two standard rechargeable batteries in
a sealed battery pack, which is maintenance free, providing a
range of 7 to 10 kilometres.
Features Include:
• Provides carers with relief from heavy pushing
• Reduces risk on slopes with braking system
• Powers the wheelchair for 7-10km before
needing to recharge the batteries

E-Motion
- Power Assistance for Wheelchairs
A wheelchair provides the user with freedom of movement and
promotes activity. It is, however, not always easy to maintain
movement relying on one’s own physical strength.
Depending on the user’s level of disability, left or right hand
support can be adjusted independently. When switched off,
the wheelchair is ready for manual use.
Wheelchair drivers know all about it: that heavy feeling on
a long uphill journey or a long downhill stretch where safety
becomes a problem. E-Motion can provide active mobility with
very little effort.
The electric motors have rechargeable battery packs that are
integrated inconspicuously into the wheel hubs. There is no
disturbing motor noise due to the gearless and
maintenance-free drive mechanism.
E-Motion is based on a very simple operational principle: when
the user applies force to the push rims, the motors engage and
assist with propulsion of the wheelchair. There are three
different levels of support available at the push of a button:
Stage 1 – minimum support, for indoor use,
Stage 2 – for outdoor use on even terrain,
Stage 3 – maximum support for uphill stretches or for users requiring total support.
Because of handy snap connectors, the individual parts are
easy to attach and remove, so wheelchairs can be
disassembled and transported as normal.
E Motion allows active wheelchair use with much less effort,
as those who keep on the move, are more likely to get ahead!
Features Include:
• Provides active mobility with little effort
• 3 different levels of support at the push of a button
• Transports easily

Power Mobility
Power Scooters
When the need for power mobility arises, an electric-powered
scooter is often the answer for those who have limited
mobility. Choosing a scooter, however, can be a difficult
exercise, as the number of alternatives, both in products and
outlets, is bewildering.
Mobility Plus has many years experience in equipping people
with disabilities for life with power mobility. Our experts
examine in detail, your needs, abilities and lifestyle
preferences, to fit you with the best possible solution for your
greatest future independence.
Power scooters come in a large variety of sizes and
configurations. It is important to consider loads to be carried
and terrain to be covered in order to select a scooter that will
give the best performance.
We, at Mobility Plus, have built up strong, long-term
relationships with other providers of disability equipment, both
here in Australia, and overseas. These relationships allow us to
draw on a much wider range of alternatives when considering
which solutions are best for your individual needs. Our expertise will help to take the worry out of choosing the right power
scooter solution.

Nothing is more important to the people at MP than the care of children with disabilities.

X-Panda TM
The X:PandaTM from R82 is a dramatic leap forward in the design of
mobile growth chairs for children with disabilities.
This stylish and innovative design, which comes in three sizes,
is multi-adjustable, so that width, depth, and back height can all
change independently to cater for the individual differences in
growth for any child. The seat in each size has a 10cm adjustment
available in width and depth, coupled with a sliding back growth
capability. The most important aspect of the X:Panda’s patented
design is that the back is “dynamic.” This allows the child to extend
by pushing back against relatively light resistance, while
maintaining pelvic positioning. The child can then recover, with
relative ease, into the desired seating position. This feature is
lockable for situations where a dynamic back is not desirable,
such as feeding.
The dynamic movement of the X:Panda allows a child all the
adjustment to sit comfortably and explore all the possibilities of this
superbly designed mobile chair. The X:Panda can be mounted
on to various bases, including the High-Low indoor or outdoor
frame, the Serval stroller frame and the new Combi frame.
Features Include:
• Key feature - the back is “dynamic”
• Can be mounted on various bases
• Multi-adjustable to cater for the individual

Wheelchair Seat Cushions
& Backrests for Children
Mobility Plus has a huge range of wheelchair seat cushions
available through our worldwide network of mobility equipment
resources. Our experienced technicians can advise you as to the
best material for your particular application, budget or specified
medical condition.
Fusion-Bonded Honeycomb – For most people, Supracor
Fusion-Bonded Honeycomb, is the best of all worlds, offering Total
Pressure Care® by lower interface and shear pressure as well
as superior ventilation for moisture and heat control. See our full
range in the separate Supracor pages.
Foam Cushions – Polyurethane foam is the most economical,
but also the shortest lived seat cushion material, as we have to
use softer densities to protect against pressure problems for those
with sensitive skin. This material, though, is very comfortable and
comes in a wide range of densities. It can be an ideal material for
those who spend only a few hours a day in a wheelchair, and is
very useful, and most often utilised, for shaped, backrest-cushions.
Wheelchair Postural Backrests – Mobility Plus manufacture
many of the backrests that are required for our wheelchairs in our
own specialised seating department.
Latex Cushions – Latex is a much more resilient material in the
softer densities than foam: more expensive, but longer lived.
It is a natural product that is friendlier to the environment.
Gel Cushions – These cushions work on sacks of gel over a
shaped base. Gel cushions are excellent for pressure maintenance
and seating stability as they mould around the anatomy of the user.
Air Pocket Inflated Cushions – These cushions are excellent for
those at higher risk of skin integrity issues who need a greater
level of pressure care. They are recognised as extremely soft and
comfortable but are not as maintenance free as other cushions.
Foam Cushions can come
in many grades
Apart from our standard, adjustable, back upholstery, there are
strap - adjustable backs and a multitude of shaped backrests, often
custom fitted. With our own hexcelite (HEX) seating, we also
specialise in forming backrests for people whose lives have left
them in need of the most precise measurement, to make a back
and seat that fits them individually.
There are a great number and variety of other moulded backrests
on the market that can be sourced from our worldwide network of
mobility equipment resources.
We, at Mobility Plus, are able to fulfil any prescription of backrest
that your health professional can specify. These can be fitted to our
flexibly designed wheelchairs by Mobility Plus craftsmen to provide
the best possible seating outcome for every individual person.

Postural Support &
Pressure Care
Postural support and pressure care has become a key field of expertise at Mobility Plus.
Its influence carries through all areas of disability, as the pressure lesion can be a severe,
but mostly preventable, threat to the well-being of all people with impaired mobility.
Postural support and pressure care can be as simple as just the right seat cushion on your
wheelchair, to as complex as a full, twenty-four hour postural management program, with fully
custom-made, moulded body support and postural aids during the hours of sleep.
Mobility Plus is a centre of excellence in this important field and now provides a huge range
of products and services to cater for all aspects of postural support and pressure care.
Whether your seat cushion preference is air-filled, latex, synthetic foam, gel or the
revolutionary new Supracor® fusion-bonded honeycomb, we can supply the most
appropriate product for your condition.
Mobility Plus also has expertise in pressure mapping,
custom and moulded seating through use of our
Seating Assessment Machine (SAM.) and a
postural aid program to preserve body
symmetry during sleep.
This comprehensive service
has been built up over many
years by Mobility Plus
through a worldwide
network of partnerships
with providers of
quality disability

with our own research
and manufacturing
facilities.

Seating Assessment
Machine (SAM)
Mobility Plus operates a piece of diagnostic equipment called a Seating Assessment Machine (SAM) to ascertain the correct supportive comfort
and pressure management for those more profoundly disabled in our community, in order to minimise deterioration of skin
integrity. These types of disabilities are often characterised by abnormal tone which twists the body, making them more difficult to support than
normal, especially through the lumbar and thoracic areas.
The caring technicians at Mobility Plus are very experienced in dealing with these types of conditions and have, as their primary tool,
a prescription chair or seating assessment machine (SAM)
SAM has a back profiler made up of many rows of plastic “fingers” that can exactly map the shape of the body to be supported.
This profile can then be used to replicate the precise shape into a back cushion.
The use of SAM however, does not end there. A headrest can be shaped and adjusted for height and lateral position, as well as having a number
of different profiles to choose from to support the head correctly.
SAM’s seat can be a split wedge to cater for different leg lengths, or completely removed to fit alternate specialised pressure care seating.
Adductor pads or a pommel for abduction can be fitted and there are lap-belt or harness capabilities.
The tilt-in-space feature has its adjustment at the hip joint to ensure correct ergonomic support. Armrests are adjustable in each plane or can make
way for a generous tray. To cater for the lower legs, the knee to foot specifications can change in length and angle and the footrest is infinitely
Planta and Dorsi adjustable.
The capabilities of SAM
are best described in the

This then provides a complete formula for the individual
postural needs of each client.
If the disability is less severe, then many clients can be
fitted through our library of symmetrical back supports
which can then be modified after measurement and
assessment.
We also offer many different styles of seats which can be
tried, often with our system of pressure mapping, for the
most suitable comfort and pressure care.
The Seating Assessment Machine provides an
accurate, time-efficient way to care for those most
disabled in our society.

Pressure
Mapping
“Pressure Mapping” or pressure imaging is a capacitive
technology used by the technicians at Mobility Plus to clearly
and accurately measure interface pressure.
This device allows clinicians and clients to view precise,
high-resolution representations of bodily pressure distributions
on a screen. We can show clinicians, using objective
measurements, how positioning, support materials and
alterations to them can impact on a client’s circulation, skin
surface integrity and well-being.
Mobility Plus use pressure mapping as a diagnostic tool,
particularly in conjunction with our prescriptions for specialised
moulded seating such as the “Hex Seating” on custom-made
wheelchairs.
We can show clinicians (physiotherapists or occupational
therapists) in two or even three dimensions the pressure
effects on the often unusual body shapes of their clients
and how re-shaping or even changing the support materials
can minimise the risk to clients from the effects of pressure.
The techniques can also be applied to the lying position to see
how pressure affects the sleeping or bed-ridden client.
With the extensive range of different cushions available at
Mobility Plus, including the Symmetrisleep night positioning
bolsters, the prescribed cushion material, style and
contouring for seat and back is always achievable with the
help of our experienced and knowledgeable team, to ensure
correct pressure care.

Hex Seating
Hex seating is an important process, pioneered by Australian,
Dr John Woodhouse, to improve comfort, safety and quality of
life for those with severe muscular-skeletal spinal irregularities.
The trained and experienced technicians at Mobility Plus take
a precise moulding of the individual’s exact shape. This is a
most important starting point as the body of the person with
this type of disability is often not suited to an everyday
wheelchair.
Input from family members, carers and therapists is also
imperative and incorporated into the design of the finalised
seating and wheelchair frame.
A plaster cast is taken from the initial mould to preserve the
individual’s exact body contours, and then a thick, impervious
liner made from EVA closed cell foam is formed over the cast
in our Vacuum Forming Unit. The soft liner then has Hexcelite
orthopaedic splinting tape heat bonded to it to provide
supportive strength, giving the seating its name.
This unique combination has the supreme advantage of being
able to be altered and re-moulded around bony prominences,
not only when a final fitting is done with the client, but years
later to accommodate changes in body shape, thereby
extending the life of the seating.
Finally, a wheelchair frame is hand-crafted to accommodate
the shape of the seat to ensure comfort, protection and
long-term durability.

Symmetrisleep Body
Support System
Of the 8,760 hours in a year, the typical immobile person will
spend about 3,640 hours in bed.
It is clear that good postural management and comfort are
important during this large proportion of each day, and is
central to any twenty-four hour postural management program.
The Symmetrisleep Body Support System provides adaptable
ergonomic support for anybody who cannot find a comfortable
sleeping position easily. It is made up of a series of
padded frames, wedges and bolsters, with the shaping
elements secured to a base sheet, that help maintain body
symmetry during sleep and protect joints from the destructive
effect of gravity during those 3,640 hours of bed rest.
In short, it provides supported comfort and postural
management while sleeping.

Sleep
Improved comfort reduces abnormal tone during the night for
easier movement and better mornings. This can also mean
that family members and carers are disturbed less frequently.
The Symmetrisleep System is extremely practical and easy to
handle being made from highly conforming “Lowzone” foam
cushions and sheets, combined with two-way stretch,
wipe-clean, breathable fabrics for comfort and durability.
It is also easy to transport and simple to set up anywhere.
Symmetrisleep is infinitely adjustable for supine, prone or
side-lying sleep and may, over time, reduce the need for
surgical intervention.
The ingenious Symmetrisleep System can provide a good
night’s sleep for everybody!

Tiltrite Chair
The Tiltrite Chair is the most supportive, most adaptable “tilt-in-space” home chair
in the world. One chair can be used for sitting, back recline, prone stretch, as a
bed, for side lying or head down for chest drainage.
It presents a postural management alternative to those who previously have had
no choice but to sit all day in a wheelchair with moulded inserts. The Tiltrite chair
provides supportive comfort so it can create a much more homely atmosphere.
The Symmetrikit Tiltrite Chair comes in two sizes and has a variety of upholstery
colours to choose from. Back recline, leg elevation and tilt-in-space can all be
controlled individually, either by manual controls or optional power controls
using a battery or low-voltage mains electricity.
Movement on sturdy locking castors is a breeze and family and care-givers
will be delighted with the ease of operation and its supportive comfort.

Supracor ® Honeycomb Cushions
& Support Surfaces
Supracor ® is the originator of flexible, fusion-bonded honeycomb, a revolutionary new
technology with exciting applications in all areas of high performance shock absorption.
In the form of sheets or cushions, the Supracor Honeycomb distributes weight uniformly to
relieve pressure points while providing exceptional stability. The honeycomb cells contour to
body shape and flex with movement to absorb shock and prevent tissue trauma. Perforations
in the honeycomb cell walls help circulate air to evaporate moisture. Excess moisture is also
directed away from the skin by the air spaces in the honeycomb, making it an excellent choice
for individuals who are incontinent or perspire heavily, especially those who live in warmer
climates.
This discovery, therefore promotes clean, healthy skin and minimises the risk of
pressure lesions.
Made from advanced medical grade material that’s antibacterial, antifungal and odour
resistant, Supracor cushions and sheets are the modern approach to pressure management.
They are also simple to clean, being machine washable and dryable.
All cushions come with a standard cover, but there is the option of incontinence covers if
required. Custom sizes are also available on any design by special request.
Supracor cushions and sheets provide Total Pressure Management ® in three ways; direct or
interface pressure relief, reduced shear pressure and ventilation to control heat and moisture,
bringing you a new level of comfort.

Wheelchair Seat Cushions
/ Postural Backrests
Mobility Plus has a huge range of wheelchair seat cushions
available through our worldwide network of mobility equipment
resources. Our experienced technicians can advise you as to the
best material for your particular application, budget or specified
medical condition.
Fusion-Bonded Honeycomb – For most people, Supracor
Fusion-Bonded Honeycomb, is the best of all worlds, offering Total
Pressure Care® by lower interface and shear pressure as well
as superior ventilation for moisture and heat control. See the full
range in the separate Supracor pages.
Foam Cushions – Polyurethane foam is the most economical,
but also the shortest lived seat cushion material, as we have to
use softer densities to protect against pressure problems for those
with sensitive skin. This material, though, is very comfortable and
comes in a wide range of densities. It can be an ideal material for
those who spend only a few hours a day in a wheelchair, and
is very useful, and most often utilised, for shaped,
backrest-cushions.
Gel cushions are excellent for pressure
maintenance and seating stability as they mould around the
anatomy of the user.
Air Pocket Inflated Cushions – These cushions are excellent
for those at higher risk of skin integrity issues who need a greater
level of pressure care. They are recognised as extremely soft and
comfortable but are not as maintenance free as other cushions.
Foam Cushions can come
in many grades
Apart from our standard, adjustable, back upholstery, there are
strap- adjustable backs and a multitude of shaped backrests,
often custom fitted. With our own hexcelite (HEX) seating, we also
specialise in forming backrests for people whose lives have left
them in need of the most precise measurement, to make a back
and seat that fits them individually.
There are a great number and variety of other moulded backrests
on the market that are available from our worldwide network of
mobility equipment resources.
We, at Mobility Plus, are able to fulfil any prescription of backrest
that your health professional can specify. These can be fitted to
our flexibly designed wheelchairs by Mobility Plus craftsmen to
provide the best possible seating outcome for every individual
person.

Transfers & Motor Vehicles
The people at Mobility Plus have 25 years experience in helping people with disabilities
become more independent.
Whether it is the ability to transfer out of bed, move around your home, go to the local shop or
venture further afield through use of a motor vehicle; each is a step towards independence.
The more independent you become, the more motivated you are to be active, and the higher is
your self-esteem.
Mobility Plus can help every step of the journey with equipment to expedite that first transfer out
of bed, to the ability to drive a modified motor vehicle.
From the simplest slide-board or turntable, to the most complex modular ceiling hoist,
Mobility Plus provides good advice with our great range of experience and reliable service,
right through to installation and follow-up instruction for operation, by either user or care-giver.
Mobility Plus also has a large range of the equipment necessary to make most motor vehicles
accessible and safe for the disabled motorist whether driver or passenger.
Wheelchair passengers can be secured by the
revolutionary, new, self-tensioning “Q-Straint”
strapping restraint system.
People who can transfer into vehicle
seats, either as a driver or
passenger can be aided by
“turnout” seats and hand
controls fitted for drivers.
In short, you can trust
Mobility Plus to get you
moving; whether it be
just out of bed, or out
into the world.

Romedic Transfer
Products
Romedic Transfer Belts
These belts have horizontal and vertical handles attached for supported
assistance with standing, sitting, walking or side transfers. There are two types;
the Easybelt when frequent washing between uses is required, and the Flexibelt
which is a soft fabric with grips.
Each belt has the following features:
1. Non-slip interior surfaces to stop belts moving during use.
2. Easy to fit, remove and adjust
3. Can be washed at temperatures up to 70° C and cool tumble dried
There are three sizes available.
Romedic Stretchers are useful for turning patients in bed or transferring on
or off beds. Flat-lying lifts to transport a patient are also possible. They come in
four sizes and have water repellent silicon-treated nylon fabric to protect them.
Romedic Transfer Slides are available in five sizes and are material tubes
that slide on themselves and facilitate easy movement of a prone or seated person for such applications as turning in bed or on an operating table, transferring to
and from a wheelchair or vehicle or simply moving up or down a bed.
They are made from either cotton or nylon and are easy-care with washing up to
60° C and spin dry. They are soft enough to be placed permanently beneath a
patient or easily taken away.
Romedic Easy Glide Transfer Board is a conventional, hard, slide-board
that bridges the gap between two surfaces to enable easy transfer of the person
with disabilities. The Easy Glide Board is often used with a transfer belt or sling
and comes in two lengths: 60cm and 75cm.
Romedic Transfer Turntable is used when a person can weight-bear and
stand on their feet but cannot turn. For maximum support and safety the
turntable is best used with a transfer belt or sling. The turntable is very light and
has an integrated handle for easy placement in position on the floor or storage.
For the greatest possible safety, each surface of the turntable is applied with
anti-slip tape.

Changetable 3
Bathroom space is always at a premium.
All electrics are mounted near the ceiling, away from splash
or spill zones to protect all concerned in the process.
Change tables can take up lots of room and it can be difficult
to get a larger child or adolescent onto them.
Here, with the Mobility Plus Changetable 3, the table folds flat
against the wall and has a motor driven height adjustment, that
can bring the individual to be changed, from the lower loading
position, up to the care-giver’s optimal working height, with the
press of a button.
Crafted at Mobility Plus in powder-coated stainless steel, the
Changetable 3 has a trampoline-style sling topped with a
30mm mattress covered in waterproof material.
Standard installation is for a plaster wall with timber studs,
although the Changetable 3 can be mounted on almost any
wall by special arrangement.
The weight limit on the Changetable 3 is a generous 120 kg
and is, with its height adjustment, ideal for use with hoists.
Mobility Plus Changetable 3 solves the change-time problem
with the maximum space efficiency and the minimum of fuss.
For additional safety, there is an optional fold-down side rail,
which is a highly recommended feature.

Guldmann
Ceiling Hoists
At Mobility Plus, our prime objective is to provide safe,
comfortable and efficient ways to lift, move and position
people with disabilites in a wide range of different environments.
Guldmann ceiling hoists have smooth, jerk-free starts and stops,
with prompt response from the easy-to-use hand control, which has
a dual speed feature when not under load.
This ensures that care-givers and family members get more time to
provide all-important personal care and achieve as much rewarding
normal-life time as possible.
We, at Mobility Plus, believe that Guldmann, with its sophisticated
built-in safety systems, which include emergency stop and lowering,
is one of the safest lifts in the world.
To this end, we have searched and found what we believe to be the
best ceiling hoist manufacturer in the world: Guldmann.
Guldmann has a variety of lifting engine modules with capabilities
from 200 to 455 kilograms. The ceiling-mounted rails are all modular
as well, making for smooth, almost silent gliding, providing the
passenger with the feeling of a safe, secure ride.
Mobility Plus distributes Guldmann ceiling hoists as they are an ideal
way to move non-weight-bearing people from one place to another.
A lifting system of this kind, mounted on the ceiling, with the
mechanical and moving parts discreetly out of the way, can reach
any part of the room so furnishings and floor coverings are no longer
a hindrance, and the room looks far less clinical.
With the unique Guldmann built-in power source for constant
re-charging and always-on capability, you save time, as everything
needed for effective lifting and moving is always in place, ready to
go. The result – more time for the care that really counts.
Guldmann have a number of different slings ranging from upright
walking, to sitting or full horizontal, stable lift, so that the perfect
comfort and support for each individual can be found.
The benefits also extend to the care-giver with documented
reductions in stress, strain and injury.
Guldmann ceiling hoists save space, save time and make life
easier and safer for everybody.

Hand Controls
Many people with physical disabilities still have the ability to drive
a motor vehicle if hand controls are fitted. This independence adds
greatly to self-esteem and a sense of control over one’s own life.
Vehicular independence also allows the disabled person to take a
more active role in family and community life.
Mobility Plus has the knowledge and experience to fit hand controls
to a large variety of vehicles. Our extensive machinery allows us
to make the fine modifications that are often needed, as practically
every vehicle requires slightly different fittings to make
the apparatus work effectively.
Our experience also allows us to modify equipment to cope with
specialised disability needs as the hand controls activate the pedals
of the vehicle and do not directly control the engine. There is also
a range of portable hand controls that can be adapted to any vehicle
on a temporary basis, making travel far easier through the use of
alternate or rental vehicles.
The trusted name of Mobility Plus is the one to look for in vehicle
adaptation for people with disabilities.
Features Include:
• Modified vehicles give people with disabilities an independence that enhances self esteem
• Portable hand controls add confidence
for independent travel

Auto Adapt
Turnout
Mobility Plus distributes the AutoAdapt Turnout which is a vehicle mounted swivel
base that allows the car seat to swivel out over the sill of the vehicle to facilitate
entering and exiting for either weight-bearing or wheelchair-bound passengers.
The Turnout can be adapted to two or four door cars and is available on
either driver or passenger side of the vehicle.
Brand-adapted brackets are available for the most common brands of cars and
they are mounted on the original seat fittings so they can be easily removed and the
seat returned to its original state when the car is replaced.
Quite often, the original seat can be re-used, but a low-profile seat such as the
“BEV” is recommended to ensure correct seating height and maximum room
when entering and exiting the vehicle.
The Turnout has passed crash-testing standards and has an approved load
capacity of 250 kilograms.
Mobility Plus has great faith in this quality equipment and is able to fit it into most
vehicles to further extend independence in the life of a person with disabilities.
Features Include:
• Aids the passenger or driver in
entering and exiting of vehicle
via a mounted swivel base
• Available on either driver or
passenger sides and can be adapted to both 2 & 4 door cars
• Can be easily removed an refitted

Auto Adapt
Turny Orbit
The Auto Adapt Turny Orbit is a great concept in seats designed
for high-sill vehicles such as vans, mini-buses and four-wheel
drives. It is now distributed and fitted by Mobility Plus.
Not only does it allow the passenger to be rotated 90˚ out from
the normal forward-facing seating position, it also lowers the
seat to a height where transfer to a wheelchair, scooter or other
apparatus is easily achieved.
This motor-operated car seat can be mounted either in the front
passenger seat or in the centre row of seats opposite a sliding
door, depending on the model of the vehicle.
Rotating, lifting and lowering are completely electrically
operated by a fixed in-vehicle control or an optional remote
control.
The Turny Orbit comes with either of two lifting heights of 300
or 395mm adapted to vehicle make and user requirements.
Whilst these two heights are the maximum travel, end stops for
downward travel are programmable.
The Turny orbit has passed crash-testing standards and has
an approved load capacity of 150 kilograms.
Changes to vehicles are minimal and can easily be restored for
resale when the vehicle is to be replaced. The standard seat
can also be used if it is small enough; otherwise the BEV low
profile seat has been specifically designed for this equipment.
With its continuously adjustable raising and lowering function,
the Turny Orbit is ideal for people with disabilities who need
to travel in high-sill vehicles.
Features Include:
• Designed for high-sill vehicles such as vans,
mini-buses and four-wheel drives
• Rotates and lowers the passenger where
transfer to a wheelchair, scooter or

The BEV
Car Seat
The “BEV” car seat has been especially designed for
installation in combination with the AutoAdapt Turnout or
Turny Orbit fittings, or whenever available space means
that a seat of the low level type would be a major benefit.
Apart from being low-level overall, the BEV also has flat
edges to the cushion, upholstered with easy-slide
material which is a great advantage for transfers to and
from a wheelchair. In addition, the BEV seat is easily
adapted for children who need a shorter cushion or who
have other particular needs.
The BEV seat has cushions that are removable from the
backrest and base. This is very convenient for cleaning or
replacement and allows other accessories such as torso
or lumbar supports to be fitted under the cushions’ on
Velcro fasteners.
Amongst other optional accessories are arm-rests, thigh or
thoracic supports, neck support rolls and a special comfort
head-rest. This allows the BEV car seat to be modified
to accommodate the special needs of many people
with disabilities to make car travel much safer and more
comfortable.

Mobility Supporter
The Mobility Supporter is a fully adjustable seating frame that
provides support during transport. It is much more convenient than
many other methods as it utilises existing seats and seat-belts in
most vehicles, and is often secured by the standard built-in anchor
bolt that secures a baby capsule. Extension straps are available for
longer vehicles such as station wagons.
The Mobility Supporter has two adjustable “wings” that securely hold
the person to be transported between them. The passenger is then
further secured with the aid of the vehicle’s own standard seat belts,
and the adjustable straps on the unit itself.
Variations of the frame width and depth are available for narrower
seats such as in mini-buses as well as different apron options to
cater for seats with built-in headrests. The unit can also be
customised for people with special needs as it is actually
manufactured by Mobility Plus.
There is also a choice of head-rests to add to the passenger’s
comfort and safety.
The Mobility Supporter is an easy, convenient solution to the
problems of transportation for people with disabilities.

Pool & Spa Hoists
Swimming for both rehabilitation and pleasure is denied to many
people because of the difficulties of getting in and out of the water.

Mobility Plus is a dealer in a number of pool and spa hoists.
This practical machinery allows a person with a disability to enter,
and leave the water quickly, safely and with dignity.

Pro Lift is
controlled by
the passenger
There are a variety of models; from a basic style with electric lift
and lower capability where the lateral swing is provided manually
by a care-giver, to one where the bather can operate the hoist
independently via the use of a vacuum-operated pendant control
which is activated safely, even when in the water.
There is a large range of lifting capabilities with optional lift arms
fitted with a choice of gantry sling and spreader bar, platform
assembly, or stretcher. Additional safety features can be added
in the form of an emergency hands-free telephone or an audible
alarm which sounds when the hoist is in operation. There is even
a solar panel battery charger available.
Most hoists of this type can be unbolted easily and wheeled away
to give clear access around the pool or spa as necessary.
Pool and spa hoists from Mobility Plus provide effortless and
convenient access to the water with complete safety and peace
of mind.

Ramping
Ramping for wheelchairs and scooters seems such a simple thing, and it is;
but the application is critical.
Firstly there are weight considerations, then there is the distance to be bridged,
and the gradient required. There are always government safety regulations as
to distance, hand rails, gradients and locations just to add to the complexity.
At Mobility Plus we are experts in ramping and are able to take the worry out of
selecting the right ramp for you.
We have long ones and short ones; light-weight portable ones; heavy duty ones;
ones with hand rails and, when all else fails, we’ll make them ourselves to suit your
needs. We act as an agent and distributor for a number of highly regarded ramp
manufacturers from around the world and can draw on many different configurations
to help you.
Ramps can be so important for your
independence and mobility. The
choice and expertise at Mobility
Plus makes it easy to select the
right ramp.
Ramping
Roll-a-Ramp®
Mobility Plus supplies Roll-a-Ramp® exclusively in Australia.
It is the world’s most versatile ramping system.
Fabricated from strong aerospace aluminium with a black anodised
finish, the Roll-a-Ramp provides incredible strength, being able to
hold up to 900 kilograms of distributed weight.
The Roll-a-Ramp can come in any size, from a personal single
step-conquering version to extended semi-permanent access
ramps with hand-rails.
The versatility of the Roll-a-Ramp is due to the fact that it is small
segments that are riveted together. Each segment braces against
the other in an ingenious design to provide a stable, rigid ramp to
take any brand of manual or electric wheelchair or scooter.
It can then simply roll up for storage or transportation.
There are a small number of important accessories. In larger ramps,
a centre support stand, which is easily fixed, is required for stability.
Positive Locking Pins that release easily can replace rivets in the
segments so the ramp can be broken up onto a number of smaller,
more easily carried pieces with the strap handle.
In very long ramps which may even require a landing, the
Roll-a-Ramp platform and hand rails are available.
Even Autofold motors can be added to customise your ramp.
The Roll-A-Ramp format is only limited by your imagination.
And, if your situation changes, you can add length to the ramp with
the simple tools provided with your ramp. You don’t have to purchase
another ramp to meet your new need. That’s flexibility.
Features Include:
• Holds up to 900 kilograms of distributed weight
• Available in any length
• Simply rolls up for storage or transportation
• Length can be added to your exisitng ramp

Decpac
Decpac ramps have one great advantage. Their composite
fibreglass and carbon fibre construction makes them very
light for their size. Even the large two metre ramp only
weighs 13 kilograms.
With a maximum carrying weight of 300 kilograms, they will
accommodate any mobility scooter or electric wheelchair.
Features Include:
• Lightweight
• Made from fibreglass and carbon fibre
• Available in different sizes for different uses
The larger models come with edge barriers and can cope
with obstacles up to 570mm high, while the smaller
“Personal” model gets you up that troublesome single step.
Whatever the length, just ask Mobility Plus.

MP Ramps
Mobility Plus manufactures a steel folding ramp to provide
loading access for scooters and wheelchairs into motor
vehicles without the expense of a chair lift. The steel mesh
that forms the treads of the ramps provides excellent grip.
The ramps are 2160mm long and fold in half for easy
storage and transport.
Features Include:
• Light and easy to handle
• Suitable for loading scooters and wheelchairs into a vehicle without the expense of a chair lift
As they are a loose pair of single wheel ramps, they are not
suitable for passenger loading into vehicles, but it does make
them much lighter and easier to handle and pack than any
single ramp.

Threshold Ramps
Threshold Ramps from Mobility Plus are a fantastic solution
for all those annoying small bumps that constantly confront us.
These small obstructions can trip up a fit and healthy person,
or tip anybody out of a wheelchair, walking frame, or stroller.
Threshold Ramps come in two sizes with heights of 25 or
50mm, but can be modified to fit any obstruction under 50mm
by trimming them to suit, with a band-saw or jigsaw.
These easily portable ramps, made from maintenance-free,
re-cycled rubber compound, are much lower in cost than
cement or metal plates, and meet access and
mobility gradients of 1:8.
Threshold Ramps can simply be laid in place, as they are
naturally of low-slip co-efficient, or can be permanently fixed
using industrial adhesive. What could be easier or
simpler than that?
These Threshold Ramps have so many applications for people
with wheelchairs, walking frames, strollers, prams, or delivery
trolleys, and also drastically reduce tripping hazards.
Threshold Ramps are a great all-round utilisation of re-cycled
raw materials in this throw-away world
Features Include:
• Can be modified to suit any obstuction under 50mm
• Made from re-cycled rubber compound
• More cost effective than cement or metal plates
• Portable and easy to install
