Our residence hall facilities (student housing during the academic school
year) are located closer to the action than any of Ellensburg’s hotels and
motels; within walking distance to the fairgrounds and rodeo, the historic
downtown district, and many restaurants!
Standard residence halls have double and (limited) single rooms with twin
beds. Men’s and women’s bathrooms are located at opposite ends of each floor.
Another option is a suite (bedroom/living room with private bath), which can
accommodate up to three people and requires a minimum two-night stay.
During the Ellensburg Rodeo and Kittitas County Fair, all rooms are supplied
with beds, linens, towels and soap. Sleeping rooms are not air-conditioned so
you may wish to bring a fan. Accommodations also feature “live” telephone
and television jacks, but you must supply the telephone/television. State sales
tax is included in all accommodation prices.
R eservations with prepayment are required and may be made by completing
and mailing the registration form to: CWU Conference Program, 400 East
University Way, Ellensburg WA 98926-7592. Telephone reservations will
be accepted with credit card payment by calling 1-800-752-4379 or faxing
the reservation form to 509-963-1285. Refunds will be given when written
cancellations are received 72 hours prior to on-campus arrival date. Check
in will be at the Vantage Room in Munson Hall.
T he CWU Chimpanzee and Human Communication Institute (CHCI)
will be presenting “Chimposiums” — a one-hour educational workshop on
Sunday only during the Labor Day weekend. This special workshop provides
an introduction to our world-renowned ASL signing chimpanzees who use
American Sign Language in their daily interactions. CHCI is designed to
facilitate research on primate communication (chimpanzee, as well as human)
and serves as an educational training center for students and the general public.
For chimposium reservations call: 509-963-2244.
