Ancient Knowledge of West Africa
Led by
Foday Musa Suso
Suso, Mandingo Griot & Oral Historian
Foday Musa Suso was born into a griot /
oral historian family in a small village in
Gambia. Interfaith Community Sanctuary is
honored to host Mr. Suso, as he, for the
first time in the Pacific Northwest, publicly
shares ancient knowledge and teachings
from his ancestral heritage.
Foday has the unique experience of being
raised in a small village and trained in
traditional methods the teachings of his
ancestral heritage. He’s been able to
experience those teachings while traveling
the world for nearly 40 years playing his
family instrument.
