Kingfisher Open
This year “friends of Clark Fisher” started the Clark E. Fisher Memorial to honor our
friend. This is the first tournament, which we hope is only the start. We want to make it an
annual event. Clark loved many things, but a few
of the most important were family,
friends, the outdoors, and volleyball. We
would like the Annual Kingfisher
Open Tournament to be full of fun with
family and friends.
Please plan to join in on the fun and help to
raise donations in Clark’s name to donate
to the “Cancer Patient Help Fund,” a local York County organization, and “Lung Cancer Foundation of America.”
You can contribute to this worthy cause by sending your check (make payable to “Clark E.
Fisher Memorial”) to:

Sept. 7, 1961 - Nov.12, 2009
Clark E. Fisher, an
athlete and a non-smoker,
was diagnosed with lung
cancer in early 2009. On
November 12, 2009, he
lost his battle with this
disease. For over twenty years,
Clark was an avid volleyball player and coach. His
sons, Ryan and Michael,
also developed a passion for the game. They played
at York Suburban High School, club leagues and in
college. And many times, with their dad.
To honor his memory, friends of Clark Fisher started
the Clark E. Fisher Memorial and the 1st Annual
Kingfisher Memorial Volleyball Tournament. We
hope to make this an annual event. Clark loved his
family, friends and volleyball, so we’ve decided
to bring together all the people and things that
were important to Clark with the goal of helping
other cancer patients. The proceeds raised at this
event will be donated to the “Cancer Patient Help
Fund”and “Lung Cancer Foundation of America.”

“Volleyball created a special bond between my dad,
brother and me early in life. The love that we had
for the game brought the three of us together like
best friends. We spent countless hours peppering in
our backyard, traveling to tournaments around the
country and setting the net up on weekends to play
doubles. The memories I have with my Dad and the
times we’ve spent on the court I’ll cherish forever.
The Kingfisher Open will continue his legacy and
his love for the game. My brother and I are sincerely
thankful to everyone participating in the event
and making it possible. Let’s not forget the bonds
volleyball has brought to us all.”
