22 Week 9, Term 2 Week 26
An innovative quality education in a caring environment
Term 2, Week 9 22nd June, 2016
As Ms McGrath will be relieving principal from Weeks 1 through to the end of Week 4 when I am on long service
leave, she and I participated in a mentoring day in preparation for this yesterday. Mrs Warburton and Ms Mackley
were relieving teachers on K/1 and Y2,3,4 respectively.
On Thursday 23rd June I am attending the Small Schools’ Principals’ meeting (Leaders’ Circle) for their morning
session, and then returning to school for L3 training at 12:30 with Mrs Warburton. Mrs Mallard will be relieving
teacher on K/1 for the afternoon. Mrs Mallard will also now be working at school from Monday to Thursday until
Ms Crowe returns.
On Friday 24th June I am in the office attending to the application for Before and After School Funding. Mrs
Warburton will be teaching K/1.
On Tuesday 28th June I will be in the office. This time is to ensure that all requirements for the end of term will be
completed and in place. Mrs Warburton will be teaching K/1.
I would like to comment on school uniforms and how well the students present to the immediate and wider
community when they are in full school uniform. Should you have difficulty in sending your child to school wearing
the correct uniform, please contact me to talk about if the school can assist you in any way.
Don’t forget the Indigenous Games from 12:10 to 2:10 on Thursday 30th June with Elisha Myhill as part of our
celebration of NAIDOC Week. Please feel free to come along and join the fun!

JUST A REMINDER
Seems like the tummy bug is hitting both students and staff alike.
If your child is unwell, please remember that students must be
kept home until 24 hours after the last vomiting or diarrhoea
episode.
We would appreciate you following these basic NSW Health
guidelines so that it does not spread through the school
community any further.
SCLC Combined Choir Rehearsal
Last Wednesday our SCLC choir students, accompanied by
Mrs Fragnito, attended Bega Valley Public School for the
combined choir rehearsal for the upcoming SCLC Performing
Arts Festival. The song the children are performing this year is
called ‘Sleeping Child’ by Michael Learns To Rock.
Sensory Garden Update
Our plans for the sensory garden are well
underway. The students in year 4/5/6 have been
exploring and designing sections of the garden to
cater for the needs of all our students. We will be
beginning construction of the garden shortly.
Early next week a ‘Sensory Garden’ newsletter will
be sent home with detailed information regarding
the construction and asking for donations of specific
second-hand materials. This garden will be a
positive, vibrant and inspiring addition to our school
yard where students will be able to explore, create,
play and learn.
SRC Fundraiser
The SRC have decided to have a ‘pyjama/onesie’
fundraiser on the last Friday of
Term 2. Students (and staff) are
encouraged to come dressed for
school in their favourite onesie
or pyjamas with a gold coin
donation for the SRC. The SRC
have plans to use the funds to
support the sensory garden.
Mrs Liz Thomas is the combined choir conductress this year.
Our students combined with children from the 13 small
schools to rehearse the song. Again, our students made us
proud with their exceptional behaviour and positive
participation. Tickets for the SCLC festival will be made
available through an online ticketing system soon.
SCLC Performing Arts Festival- Jungle Book Fever
The whole school musical rehearsals are well underway and there is a sense of excitement in the air! This year,
the SCLC item our school will present at the performing Arts festival will be an exerpt from the show. SCLC
Students who are involved will be bringing a note home later this week with all information, including details of
costumes. At this stage, most of the costuming will be made at school, but some characters will need some
additional pieces from home. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call Mrs Fragnito at school.
Fun Days Ahead
National Tree Day is on the 29th July, we are planning a day of outdoor learning which will include planting and caring for native shrubs to improve the environment in which we live.
Jump Rope 4 Heart
is coming up in week two with our Jump Off date being 4th August. You
can register online with our school. Sponsor forms will be sent home in
week 1, term 3.
