May 15, 2016 Elders Scott Cowan Pete Harry Duane Moore Wesley Parker Ed Staley John Wheeler “The mark of a great church is not its sea ng capacity, but its sending capacity.” – Mike Stachura Minister When I think of the role of every church member, it is to be a sending agency. The precedent is set in scripture to be a church that sends financially as well as sending locally by each and every one of us heeding the call to “go into all the world”. The idea presented by Christ in his great commission to the disciples before ascension was “as you go”. “As you go to work”, “as you go to school”, “as you go to play” , the call of the great commission was for each of us to be spreading the message of a risen savior every Associate Minister Walter B. Edwards Associate Minister Phil Dunn Youth Minister Scott Wilson Counselor Ann Vander Linden 886-3089 Missionaries Ricardo Alvarado Costa Rica Allan Lopez Panama Dorian Flynn Africa Sunday Services Bible School 9:00 AM Worship 10:00 AM Evening Worship 5:00 PM Wednesday Services Ladies’ Bible Class 10:00 AM Bible Class 6:30 PM day everywhere. The message was simple: Ma"hew 28:19-20 English Standard Version (ESV) 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all na2ons, bap2zing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” We are blessed to have wonderful missionaries in Ricardo and Marie)a who labor in their home country of Costa Rica. We are blessed by our “sending” power and to have laborers who daily heed the call to go into their own community and share that same message of salva on and discipleship. I would like to thank Ricardo and others like him for the work that is done for the kingdom. Please today, as he is here with us, let him know just how special he is and for the heart of service that is exhibited.
