In an effort to improve sustainability, the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief
(PEPFAR) and the Millennium Challenge Corp. (MCC) signed a three-year memorandum
of agreement to work together. The partnership leverages the resources and technical
expertise of both agencies for a more effective and sustainable development outcome.
BCGD favors much improved coordination among US government development
agencies, and between development agencies and NGOs, foundations and businesses.

UN Discussions on Rule of Law and Global
Development
UN member states have begun discussions on the Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs): the post-2015 development agenda that builds upon the Millennium
Development Goals (MDGs). There is a prominent focus on rule of law both to
advance the SDGs and as a goal in and of itself. BCGD has long stood for rule of
law as a necessary component for sustainable development and is pleased to see
rule of law a focal point of these discussions.
