EOCs are always a stressful time for students and teachers alike. With students’ final grades and teachers’
evaluations on the line, everyone feels the pressure to do the best they can. The promise of the English and math EOC
reward trips give studied out students a reason to go on and find the will to try.
For this year the requirements to go on the English EOC reward trip was for students to make proficient or
advance on their last year’s English EOC. All students who made the cut were taken to see Avengers: Age of Ultron
at Carmike Movies 7 theater in Knoxville, Tn. Overall, the students seemed to enjoy the comedy filled, action
packed, Marvel super hero movie. The two dollar popcorn, drinks, and candy were also highly appreciated.
After the movie, the students were carted off to West Town Mall for food and shopping but mostly shopping.
The mall offered a variety of choices for food including Taco Bell, Chocolate Monkey, Sabrro, and Asian Chao.
Stores for shopping were also plentiful with the mall housing stores like Hot Topic, Sephora, F.Y.E., and Game Stop.
The students had their run of the mall for about an hour until they had to start the long journey ahead.
Juniors and seniors enjoyed a day off at the mall. Over 150 students were proficient or advanced on the English II and III EOC.
