In conjunction with a Gospel Campaign, pastors and leaders from the
surrounding regions are invited to participate in a Gospel Revolution
Seminar. Many of them are very poor but they still travel a great
distance to come and receive from God. Through 10 hours of intense
training, coupled with a five day Gospel Festival, pastors’ spiritual eyes
are opened.
While Gospel Festivals touch hundreds of thousands, mostly nonbelievers, the pastors take the message of the Gospel of Grace which
they receive in the seminar back to their own area and multiply the
effect several times.

oes Jesus love Animists? Hindus? Some may say
“NO, these are idol and demon worshipers”, but after
World Impact Ministries campaign in Ranchi, India I
can assure you, “Yes.” God’s Love reaches everyone, even
those who make daily sacrifices to numerous deities and
even those who worship stones and trees.
Tens of thousand of Animists, Hindus, Christians and
Muslims gathered each day on a huge open field at the
outskirts of the city. It was clear from day one that God
loves without discrimination. Peter Youngren preached a
simple but clear Gospel message. The crowd received, and
after the preaching God confirmed His Gospel with signs,
wonders and miracles. The platform was filled with people
from all backgrounds and religions who wanted to testify
of fantastic healings.
UNPRECEDENTED MEDIA ATTENTION
I have coordinated over 20 Gospel Festivals, but I can’t
recall any time when the news media so eagerly covered
a Campaign as in Ranchi. Hindu newspaper and TV
reporters surrounded the platform each night capturing
every word. The next day newspapers had articles
recapturing last night’s message and highlights of the
miracles that took place. One article stated: “More then a
hundred thousand people from different religions listened to
Ranchi is the capital city of Jharkhand State in northern
India. It is a predominantly tribal area consisting of 32 tribes,
mainly from Hindu and Animist background.
Dr. Peter Youngren as he spoke of God’s Love for all people. God
made a perfect world, man brought sin into the world destroyed
it, God fixed it by giving His perfect son Jesus as sacrifice. Now
we can receive new life though Jesus.”
The article continued, “The gospel has no limits. It is the power
of God through Jesus. Hundreds were healed from incurable
sicknesses”.
It was amazing to see how the media, radio, tv and
newspaper, so clearly and accurately published the Gospel
message. Even Hindi newspapers, operated by Hindi
fanatics, who usually would protest against anything
Christian, beautifully proclaimed what had taken place.
God’s love was melting all hearts.
Reporters carefully investigated those who had been healed
to confirm that it was real, and then they published their
findings.
The local organizing committee, consisting of pastors from
many denominations were surprised by all the newspaper
columns devoted to the Gospel, saying they had never seen
anything like it.
One of the keys to this favour was the way in which the
message was presented, clearly and without compromise,
and yet in an atmosphere of friendship and respect to all
people. This made it easy for people to receive. Follow up
books were distributed to 60,000 new believers.
GOSPEL REVOLUTION SEMINAR
The Pastors’ Seminar was held in a bamboo constructed
tent on a local school campus. 1600 pastors from every
denomination and from all over the state gathered to hear
Peter teach on the Gospel of Grace. He showed them how
religious traditions have caused an inability to reach the
society we live in. Somehow we have become so occupied
with ourselves that we forgot that God’s Love is for everyone.
Peter commented, “First each pastor needs a revelation of
who Christ is in them, and from there we take them to the
point of being able to reach society around them”.
The Gospel Revolution Seminar is vitally important to
open people’s eyes, and to tear down walls of religion and
legalism.
I interviewed many pastors after the seminar. It is always
interesting to see what the pastors have learnt. One of the
pastors said, as tears ran down his face: “I wish I had heard
this message 30 years ago. I am so tired of religion and
the traditions we have created to keep us busy in church.
Somehow we have forgotten the gospel, the true gospel.
From now on I will take this message to the people in my
city and to my people.”
Another pastor commented: “This has changed my life
and my ministry. I am not preaching condemning religion
anymore. From now on I am preaching the good news of
Jesus.”
The leader of the Baptist denomination in Ranchi said; “I
have attended countless Christian seminars and workshops,
but what I have heard here at this seminar has truly blown
my mind. Until now we have brought so much legalism,
religious rules and church tradition into our churches that
we have forgotten about Jesus and what happened at the
cross. From now on I am preaching Jesus and my church
will start to reach out to the lost communities in my city.”
UNREACHED
Our mission is to the unreached regions of the world,
and Ranchi is certainly one of those places. Hundreds of
thousands received the new life in Christ and only God
knows the long term effect this will have on the region when
the new believers take the gospel back to their villages.

desperately needed for a long time. Nothing is as rewarding
as to present Jesus to people who have never heard of Him.
