PRASAR BHARTI BROADCASTING CORPORATION OF INDIA DIRECTORATE GENERAL: DOORDARSHAN SPECIFICATIONS FOR SITC OF MEDIA ASSET MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR ARCHIVING Specification No.: SD 01/2013 Dated: 01.02.2013 1. SCOPE: The specifications aim at the Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning (SITC) of the Integrated Media Asset Management System consisting of following modules for the Archive cell of Doordarshan Kolkata: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. TURN-KEY IMPLEMENTATION: a. The Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of the Archive system should be implemented on turnkey basis. b. The bidder should have a proven track record of design and installation of full featured Archive system for broadcast applications and should have work experience of designing & installing at-least two Media Asset Management system projects for Archival applications to leading Broadcasters in the last four years prior to the submission of the bid. The cut off date for the experience shall be the date of submission of the bid. The bidder not having the requisite work experience may tie up with other partner with requisite work experience as mentioned above. In this case, the partner will be responsible for carrying out design, installation, testing & commissioning of the facility. The MoU of partnership to this effect should be submitted along with the bid. The list of similar turnkey works successfully done by the bidder/partner in the past 4 years with full details should be enclosed along with the bid. The supporting documentary evidence like work order with successful completion certificate should also be submitted along with the offer. The offer(s) from the bidder not having the requisite work experience will not be considered. c. Keeping in view the complexity & integration of various type of equipment, a pre-bid conference will be held at an appropriate time before the last date of the submission of the bid to bring clarity to all the prospective bidders in respect of the requirement of tender specifications. The date and venue will be intimated to all the prospective bidders separately. The prospective bidders are required to submit their queries (if any) in writing so as to reach Doordarshan at least three working days before the pre-bid conference. d. It will be the responsibility of the bidder to ensure after-sale service and guarantee for all equipment from respective manufacturers. The bidder has to ensure that the guarantee is extended by the OEMs of all hardware and software of entire archive system as per the guarantee clause specified in the tender. e. Being a SITC project, the archive system should be fully configured and hardware & software customized to the required workflow of Doordarshan Archive cell of Kolkata. f. Doordarshan Kolkata will provide accommodation for housing the complete Archive system. (i) The facility will be installed in the second floor of Second Channel Building at Doordarshan Centre, Kolkata. The layout showing dimension of the rooms is enclosed in the Appendix - III. The bidder should workout the area required for installation of the proposed facility as per their system design. A layout plan for installing various equipment should also be submitted along with the bid. g. The integrator has to offer suitable Precision AC for Server Room of reputed manufacturer. The bidder has to provide relevant details of service support along with the bid. The tonnage calculation along with' heat load details, CFM requirements and the layout diagram should be submitted alongwith the bid. h. Doordarshan will provide three-phase power supply (phase to neutral 230 volt ±5%, @50 Hz) at single point in the facility. Further distribution to the various equipment, working desks etc. has to be planned and executed by the bidder. The successful bidder will be required to submit the power supply distribution schematic to Doordarshan for approval prior to execution of the work. The provision of all electrical items required for the facility should be included in the bid. Specifications for SITe of Media Asset Management System for Archiving: SD 01/2013 dt. 01.02.13 Page 2 of 42 (i) The bidder needs to provide 40 KVA three-phase on line UPS with 30 minute backup in (1+ 1) load sharing mode from reputed manufacturer. The bidder must ensure that service support for the offered UPS is available locally. (ii)The inrush current of the offered UPS should be carefully chosen to take care the nature of the load. (iii)It is envisaged that the total electrical load of the System with adequate head room will not be more than 40 KVA. In case 40 KVA capacity is inadequate, a UPS system of higher rating should be offered. The bidder should also provide the electrical load calculation of the offered system. (iv)The accommodation is already equipped with house lights. However, special lights for proper illumination of operation desks and equipment racks should be provided by the bidder. 1. The equipment offered for this project should be proven products from well-known and internationally reputed manufacturers, who have proven records of offering high-class & high MTBF equipment. J. Any substandard equipment included in the offer may cause rejection of the complete offer with the sole responsibility of bidder. k. The power cables to be used for internal wiring for various purposes should be fire retardant and of the best quality having adequate rating with sufficient headroom. 1. The bidder has to use high grade cables & connectors for video, audio, data and power interconnection of various equipment. The HD video cable should be similar to Belden 1855 for rack wiring and Belden 1505 & 1694A for other applications. The HD BNC connectors of high quality should be used. High quality XLR connectors, similar to Neutrik make should be used. m. The relevant details like various parameters, calculation details, layout, drawings, technical furniture design, rack layout etc. considered while designing the system should be provided alongwith the bid. n. The successful bidder will be required to prepare and submit the final system design and technical furniture design in consultation with Doordarshan and get it approved by Directorate General, Doordarshan before actual implementation. 3. GENERAL FEATURES: The tapeless workflow is required for Doordarshan's archive cell at Kolkata. It is envisaged to ingest the existing program content of U-matic, Betacam SP, DVCPR050 and XDCAM HD422 formats stored on tapes/optical disc media into the system, in file format of high resolution and low resolution quality. After adding metadata, the hi-res content is to be transferred to LTO Specifications for SITe of Media Asset Management System for Archiving: SD 01/2013 dt. 01.02.13 Page 3 of 42 tapes. The workflow of the Archive system consisting of various components and their necessity is described below: a. Broadcast quality Time Base Correction (TBC) units 3 nos are to be offered for the content to be played from U-matic players. TBC/DTBC units offered should be rack mountable and have analog composite input/ output. b. The baseband video and audio contents from VCRs of analog format should first pass through Analog to Digital Converter cum audio embedder. ADC should accept analog audio. The output of the ADC should routed to various equipment through 32 X 32 HD/ SD-SDI routing switcher. Output of Digital VCRs/Deck will be directly routed through the router. c. A 32 x 32 HD/SD-SDI Video and machine control protocol routing switcher for routing HD/SD-SDI video with embedded audio and also the machine control (RS232/RS422) of various playback, restoration and authoring equipment. d. It should be possible to pass the SD-SDI signal through card based Standard Noise Reducers selectable through the Router for removal of the basic noise & artifacts and for signal enhancement, if required. e. The output of VCRs/Players/Decks should be made available through the router to high end Digital Restoration system for restoration and removal of various timing errors & noise impairments, if required. The frame by frame restoration and noise reduction should be possible. The restored video & audio outputs should be ingested into MAM's online storage. f. It should be possible to route the Audio and Video contents needing minor correction/restoration, to the NLEs storage in uncompressed format for restoration and noise correction. . g. Noise corrected and digitally restored contents available in the NLE storages shall be authenticated by the Administrator through a dedicated Quality control system for ingesting into the online storage of MAM system. h. The ingest operation will transfer the content stored on tapes/optical disc of U-matic, Betacam SP, DVCPR050 and XDCAM HD422 format to the online storage in file format over i-Link/firewire/Gigabit Ethernet interface or directly through base band without degradation of quality. Six numbers of ingest workstations are envisaged. Two nos. will be used for ingest of DVCPRO 50 and/or XDCAM HD422 content over firewire/iLink/Gigabit Ethernet, two nos for ingest of U-matic format base-band video and audio signals after A/ D conversion and two nos for ingest of Betacam SP format base-band video and audio signals after A/D conversion. The bidder should offer bi-directional codecs supporting DV, DVCPR050, MPEG2 up to 50 Mbps (both I frame and long GOP), XDCAM HD422 1920xl080 50Mbps PALformats. Specifications for SITC of Media Asset Management System for Archiving: SD 01/2013 dt. 01.02.13 Page 4 of42 Low resolution media content is to be generated for browsing and metadata creation. The transcoder(s) is/are required to automatically create low-resolution content from the ingested high-resolution content. The browse quality of A/V content should be frame accurate and available in H.264/WM9 format quality at user selectable data rate up to 1 Mbps. The transcoding system should be faster than real-time or growing file ingest and designed in such a way that the transcoded low resolution material should be available within one hour after ingestion of the full resolution content in the peak load condition. Each ingested program content can be taken as I-hour duration for this purpose. The bidder should explain the calculations undertaken to arrive at the quantity of transcoders required. J. The high resolution content ingested will be stored on the -online storage system. For this purpose, a total storage of 30 Terabytes should be provided in the form of Fe storage array with SAS HDD employing RAID 5/6 configuration. Out of 30TB storage, 20TB will be used for lowresolution material storage and 10TB will be used for the high-resolution material. The storage system should be easily expandable in multiple chassis. k. Six numbers of dedicated browsing & metadata creation terminals should be connected with this system. These terminals should be equipped with high quality headphones to meet the functional requirement. It should be possible to configure the Ingest terminals to work as a preview terminal/ browsing & metadata creation terminal, whenever there is no Ingest activity. 1. The Archive system should work under a powerful, comprehensive and enterprise class MAM system. The offered MAM solution should be field proven and in use by international broadcasters. The bidder should 1. essentially enclose the international broadcasting user list along-with the tender. An industry standard Database engine supporting SQL or Oracle or DB2 database system should be part of the MAM. The Media Asset Management is the core of the system and should take care of ingestion, metadata creation, browsing, search, tracking, transcoding, frame accurate proxy generation, movement of the content and end to end content management functionalities in the envisaged workflow including Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM). It should be able to link tape based/tapeless content, low resolution copy, metadata, full resolution file copy and different instances of the material. It should be integrated with data tape library / nearline storage system, a postproduction system, low resolution edit, DVD & Blu Ray authoring system etc. The core functions of MAM should be fully integrated ones, with minimum recourse to the third party solutions. The MAM system should have tight and seamless integration with powerful leading content management system. The offered MAM system should be upgradable in future. The system in addition to manual metadata creation, should allow importing of metadata from other similar systems and also existing central archive system of Doordarshan (Dalet MAMsystem). The metadata insertion should be possible for entire video or for any portion of a clip. The metadata field should be scalable and should be customised according to the end user's requirement. n. One number of NLE with 3D graphics system should be provided and integrated with the MAM's online storage system for repurposing requirements. The bidder should quote the required DVD and Blu Ray authoring software module for this purpose. The output of this system should be connected to the AVe router so that this repurposed content can be recorded in VCR/Deck. The proposed 3D Computer graphics system should be networked to the NLE meant for Graphics generation and compo siting purpose. The offered 3D Graphics software should be similar to Softimage XSI or 3ds max or Maya with compositor. o. The bidder should supply UPS of suitable rating for the complete Archive system. The bidder should enclose the required load calculation details for substantiating the UPS rating. p. The bidder should offer reputed brand and high quality Amplispeakers for near field monitoring for the following systems: • Software based restoration on NLE systems - 2 Nos. • Advanced restoration systems - 1 No. • Quality control (Supervisor) terminal- 1 No. • DVD authoring on NLE & 3D Graphics system - 1 No. • Preview System - 4 Nos ( Preview VCRs will be provided by Doordarshan) . q. In addition to the audio monitoring, one video wall with 55" LED Monitor fed from 16 input Multiviewer system (broadcast quality) should be provided along with the QC system. The video wall displays the media outputs of all systems. r. Each and every offered equipment should be from internationally reputed manufacturer and the quoted model should be field proven and in use by leading broadcasters in various continents of the World.The bidder should essentially submit the list of such leading broadcasters to whom the quoted model has been supplied. s. The bidder should supply software pertaining to all equipment in their original media duly licensed in the name of Doordarshan with perpetual validity. Necessary documents pertaining to the licenses for various systems of the overall project should also be submitted. The make and model/part no. of each and every equipment/item/installation material etc. should be clearly mentioned in the offered Bill of material. u. The Bill of material (BOM)has been provided in Appendix-I. The bidder is required to provide the complete list of equipment, software and accessories etc. including the technical furniture offered to meet the specification requirement. The quantity of each item including submodule etc. are to be specified clearly and compulsorily, failing which the bid will liable to be rejected summarily. In order to ensure the completeness of the system, any additional equipment/ accessories which bidder feels necessary to complete the configuration should also be quoted as an essential item. w. The bidder shall submit only one solution (Single BOM) for the offered system. BOM shall not contain any alternate item/items for the item mentioned in the BOM. Bid with alternate item(s) is liable to be rejected. x. The bidder should indicate reliability of the storage, restoration equipment and all the sub-system in the workflow. y. The indicative block schematic diagram for the Archive System is as per the Appendix-II. 4. ACCOMMODATION: a. The facility will be installed at Doordarshan TV Centre located in Kolkata. b. Details of the available space are given in Appendix-III. The layout should be so designed as to maximize the utilization of the available space without compromising the functional requirement. Bidder is required to provide the equipment layout plan of full system with dimension, along with the bid. c. The bidder is required to visit the site for assessment of space available, distance between various rooms, various cable routes, cavity flooring (only for server room) any working day between 10:00 AM to 06:00 PM, before submitting the bid. The bidder may contact the Dy. Director General (DDG), Doordarshan Kendra, Kolkata (Tel. No. 033-24235656) for the purpose. In case bidder misses out certain details in his offer and it is found that his offer is incomplete, the bid will be rejected on sole responsibility of the bidder. Doordarshan will provide three-phase power supply (phase to neutral 230 volt ±5%, @50 Hz) at single point in the facility. Further distribution to the various equipment, working desks etc. has to be planned and executed by the bidder. The successful bidder will be required to submit the power supply distribution schematic to Doordarshan for approval immediately after award of the work. Power Distribution Panel with the required switchgears like Bypass switches, MCCBs, MCBs, Phase sequence switch, digital Phase sequence meters, digital Volt and Ampere Meters, digital frequency meters etc. should be provided. The required numbers of Sub Distribution Panels should also be provided. The entire Switch Gears should be of high quality and should be of reputed brands. The cost of all electrical items like power cables, connectors, MCBs etc. required for the facility should be included in the offer. b. It is envisaged that the total electrical load of the System with adequate head room will not be more than 40 KVA. The bidder needs to provide 40 KVA three-phase on -line UPS in (1+ 1) mode with 30 minute backup on full load from reputed manufacturer. The bidder must ensure that service support for the offered UPS is available locally at Kolkata. c. Mains and UPS Power Supply status (Aural & Visual) indication should be made available in the Operational Area through Remote Monitoring Facility. It should be clearly visible and audible. d. All the power supply equipment like LT panel, Distribution box, UPS, battery bank etc. are part of the offer. e. The accommodation is already equipped with house lights. However, interior of the technical area for proper illumination of operation desks and equipment racks should be fitted with aesthetically designed script lights. Adequate quantity of compact fluorescent light (CFL)j LED light fittings to give proper illumination needed for operation and maintenance should also be offered. This will also include the required cabling etc. f. Technical and power earthing for Video, Audio and Power equipment including for UPS should be properly done as per the standard. g. It is essentially required from the integrator to give the calculation of the estimated heat load for the total requirement of air conditioning in all the technical area envisaged under the tender. h. The requirement of air conditioning in server room is estimated to be about 6 TR. The temperature inside server room should be maintained between 18 to 20 degree Celsius and relative humidity should be maintained between 40 to 50%. The precise temperature control, humidity control, up-flow and down-flow configuration and multi-flow air distribution systems for uniform cooling should be offered. The bidder should offer Precision air conditioner of reputed manufacturer for server room. 1. For other areas, air conditioners of sufficient tonnage capacity will be provided by Doordarshan. Specifications for SIre of Media Asset Management System for Archiving: SD 01/2013 dt. 01.02.13 Page 8 of 42 6. ESSENTIAL FEATURES OF ARCHIVE SYSTEM: 6.1 ADC & AUDIO EMBEDDER a. As the U-matic and Betacam SP players provide analog video and audio outputs, the bidder should offer five numbers (four in analog chain and one spare) of reputed make card based Analog to Digital Converter cum audio embedders mounted in rack frames. b. The offered system should have 10-bit broadcast quality Video encoder employing 12-bit quantization for analog to digital conversion of Video signal and 24-bit resolution for analog to digital conversion of audio signal. c. These cards should embed four digital converted audio signals and offer adjustable gain and delay of the audio signals. The audio signal being embedded with the SDI video should be in sync (lip sync) with the respective video so that there is no delay between the video and audio. d. The unit should facilitate adjustment of Horizontal and Vertical timing and other Processor Amplifier controls required for the video signal. The card should has the facility for external reference signal input. e. The required reference signal generator and distributor may also be offered. The reference signal should be distributed to the relevant equipment such as ADC, Players/Deck, Router etc. f. The bidder should offer required quantity of rack frames along with dual redundant hot swappable power supplies. The Rollcall software for remote monitoring and adjusting the parameters of video and audio signals should be provided and loaded on the ingest system or on a dedicated PC with configuration as recommended by the OEM. 6.1.1 TECHNICALSPECIFICATIONS 1. 2. 3. 4. The bidder should offer internationally reputed 32 X 32 Video routing switcher. It should be capable of routing the HD-SDI & SD-SDI signal with embedded audio and simultaneously controlling the respective players/Decks through RS232/422 machine control protocols. The routing switcher facilitates effective utilisation of various resources by assigning any of the sources to required destination. c. The routing switcher should be wired to route media content from various sources like all Legacy & other VCRs/Decks, restored outputs of advanced digital restoration system and media contents from the NLEs to various destinations like Ingest systems, Advanced digital Restoration System, NLEs with software based restoration system and Recorders/Decks for Print to Tape. d. The bidder should provide one no. of XY remote control panel and 10 nos. of Single bus remote control panel for each destination which will facilitate the user to choose the required source. It should be possible to control the selected player/VCR/Deck by the user from the operation desk. e. The router should have the facility to marry the input ports for selecting the input and output simultaneously for monitoring the quality enhancement from standard noise reducer and advanced restoration system before ingesting to the online storage of the MAM. f. The router should be rack mountable and should have dual redundant power supply. g. The bidder should provide HD compatible Video patch panels. All inputs and outputs of routers, ADC cards, SNRs and other equipment connected in the system should be terminated to the video patch panel for facilitating manual patching and routing of various sources in case of failure of the routing switcher. A suitable facility for patching the machine control (like Ethernet patch panel) should also be provided. h. The XY control panel should be suitably connected to the Administrator / Quality Control system for remotely monitoring and configuring the router. 6.3 STANDARD NOISE REDUCER a. The offered Standard Noise Reducer (SNR) system should have high reliability and broadcast quality signal processing capability. This should be capable of reducing different type of timing errors and noises mainly originating from old tape machines of different formats like Umatic, Betacam SP etc. b. The bidder should offer five numbers of card based or stand alone Standard Noise Reducer system which should accept and deliver SD-SDI signal with embedded audio. 4 nos will be connected in the circuit and remaining one will be used as stand by. c. The system should be able to reduce jitter and provide stable output signal. The system should be able to achieve an overall improvement in signal to noise ratio over the input signal. d. The unit must have distinct set of filters, each addressing to a specific noise with ability to control the parameters. Broadly, filters for following Specifications for SITe of Media Asset Management System for Archiving: SD 01/2013 dt. 01.02.13 Page 10 of 42 types of noises and artifacts should be provided with appropriate algorithm to reduce them without the loss of spatial resolution of original signal. ~ Random video noises in spatial and temporal domain. ~ Impulse noises that of drop-outs black/white spots. ~ Subcarrier artifacts such as co-related luminance & chrominance noise. e. It should provide the facility for compensation of sharpness of edges etc. with separate controls for luminance, chrominance and coring. This process should ensure that no overshoots/ ringing are introduced in the output signal. f. The unit should have dedicated control panel or should be remotely controlled through rollcall software for user to control various parameters like Luminance gain, Chrominance gain, Black level, Y/ C timing, picture position, blanking, Noise threshold, strength and H & V details enhance. It should also have input and output audio gain control and internal audio delay through inbuilt audio delay processor for ensuring perfect sync with processed video signal in auto delay track mode. g. The output of the SNR will be available for ingest to the MAM,Advanced Restoration System or Software based Restoration System as per requirement. The facility for bypassing the standard noise reducer should also be possible. 6.3.1 TECHNICALSPECIFICATIONS I. VIDEO PERFORMANCE 1) Signal processing 2) Standard II. Specifications for SITe of Media Asset Management System for Archiving: SD 01/2013 dt. 01.02.13 Page 11 of 42 6.4 ESSENTIAL FEATURES OF NON LINEAR EDITING SYSTEM a. Three numbers of NLEs are envisaged for this Archive system. Among these, two NLEs should be loaded with restoration softwares for video and audio respectively. The uncompressed media content SD-SDIjHDSDI available from player jVCRjDeck through router will be ingested through NLE's captured card and stored in attached storage system. The restoration software will perform removal of noises and restoration of the media content. This restored content will be transferred to Online storage system of MAMthrough ingest operation. b. Though the NLE systems envisaged for this project is meant for working on the file based contents, the system should have the facility to accept and deliver base band signals through dedicated break out box. The offered NLE systems should have analog components, composite, SDSDI and HD-SDI video inputs and outputs conforming to PAL standard and their respective analog and AES audio input and outputs for standalone operation also. c. The NLE systems should allow multiple file conversion e.g. AVI,WMV, Q-time etc. It should allow capturing and publishing of XDCAMHD422 MXF data files in native file format through USB 2.0j3.0, Ethernet and FireWirej I. LINK interface. It should therefore be equipped with USB 2.0j3.0, Ethernet and FireWirejI. LINKinterfaces. d. The third NLE system with 3D Graphics system is a standalone system with its own media storage and meant for repurposing the media contents residing in the Online storage or content retrieved from the Nearline storage (LTO Tapes). This NLE performs the function of DVD and Blu Ray Authoring also. e. The offered hardware and software solution for NLEs should be fully integrated for the best performance. The hardware configuration of the NLEs should meet the requirements projected by the OEM and must be the latest available in the fast changing IT market. f. The offered NLE system should have real-time architecture and should have the capability of real-time simultaneous playback of two HD-SDI, four 10-bit SD-SDI uncompressed video streams and four graphics. layers. Only moving video will be considered for counting video streams. g. The system should have all the functions of standard high quality reputed brand NLEs available in the broadcast industry which support editing of uncompressed HDjSD-SDI signals in real time. The editing software should be capable of generating various transition effects like classical box, diamond & circular wipes, rotary, tilt & slide wipes and dissolves with variable softness, border colour and border width. The transcoders should be designed in such a way that the low-res files are available for viewing and metadata creation within one hour of the ingested full resolution content in the peak load condition, i.e., simultaneous ingest of 1 hour clip from all ingest terminals, assuming the time taken for QC to be zero (for the purpose of this calculation only). The bidder should submit the calculations undertaken to achieve this workflow for justifying the number of transcoders required. c. During transcoding, it should be possible to extract the embedded audio tracks into separate audio files of standard formats. d. The transcoder should not impose limit on the size of the video clips. e. The facility to simultaneously extract keyframe images while transcoding should be available on fIxed intervals of the ingested clips. f. The MAM software should facilitate advance queue system to ensure effective utilization of transcoders. IV. BROWSING,CATALOGING,SEARCHANDRETRIEVAL: a. The bidder should offer six numbers of browsing workstations based on standard PC platform with graphical user interface. This should facilitate various functions like low resolution browsing, searching and cataloguing of the contents being created or already existing in the Online storage of the system. In case of the content backed up to the Offline storage, appropriate location link should be generated. b. The browser should invoke the proxy media player to view the low res. content stored in H.264/WM9 format. The browsing software should provide all the standard operational features of the media player like play, pause, stop, fast forward, skip to begin/end, skip to timecode, skip confIgurable (number of frames forward/backward), jog and shuttle. c. It should be possible to resize the video display area, reconfIgure the screen layout and the activate or deactivate audio by the user. d. Each browsing workstation should be provided with LCD/TFT monitor and a high quality headphone to facilitate the user to listen to the audio of the ingested content. The browsing workstation should have at least 2 GB of high speed RAM& adequate local storage. The browsing software loaded in all workstations should be an integral part of the MAM software and facilitate browsing, cataloguing, search & retrieval applications. The offered system should support up to 30 browse users. f. This software should facilitate creating & editing the metadata for the ingested low resolution content. The metadata can be quite comprehensive and hence the software should permit the expansion of the data structure of the database. It should have the flexibility for the DD users to define their own metadata fields in addition to the MAM's standard metadata database. g. It should also be possible to import metadata and store in the offered MAM's database after adding newly created metadata to the imported metadata. h. The MAMsoftware should facilitate the browser to make mark in, mark out and capable of sequencing various clips from the ingested contents. 1. The bidder should furnish content retrieval time from archive, along with the bid. V. REMOTECONNECTIVITY: a. The offered system should have remote access functionality. Remote user shall able to access the low resolution content and metadata available in the Web server through the dedicated Virtual Private Network (VPN)for entering metadata and transcripts from the other Doordarshan Kendras. VPN connectivity is not in the scope of this tender. b. It should support minimum 25 remote users. c. The bidder should provide complete details the details of the required software, hardware including web server, licenses, fire wall solutions etc. to facilitate the remote access functionality, along with the tender. 7 STORAGE SYSTEM: 7.1 Online Storage: a. The bidder should offer on-line storage using SAS/FC drives with available storage capacity of 30 TB after the RAID 5/6 configuration. Out of 30 TB, 10 TB will be used for the high resolution copy and 20 TB will be used for the low resolution copy and metadata. The storage requirement for the system software, application software and other management software should be provided additionally. In case of any item or equipment failure including software and hardware within this period, the same shall be rectified or replaced free of cost to Doordarshan at the site. In case, it is not rectified within one week, replacement of the equipment shall be arranged by the bidder. (b)The guarantee includes all hardware, software and modules of complete system. (c) The bidder will provide up gradation of all the offered software free of charge during the warranty period. The bidder will be reauired to e:iveundertakine: to this effect. alone:with the bid. 16. ON-SITE TRAINING: The system envisaged is sophisticated and requires training for operation and maintenance. The bidder has to offer trainings as given below: (i) Operators Training: The bidder should offer Operators Training to ten persons for duration of 1 week at the installation site immediately after completion of installation and before handing over of the system. (ii) Administration and System Support Training: The bidder should offer Administrative and System Support Training on System Architecture, System configuration, Maintenance & Hardware support to a core team of five members for duration of 2 weeks at the installation site immediately after completion of installation and before handing over of the system. (iii)Managers Training: The bidder should offer introductory training for the senior officers of Doordarshan for a duration of 2 days at the installation site after completion of installation and before handing over of the system. (iv)Follow-up Advanced Training: The bidder should offer Follow-up Advanced Training for five working days at site after two months of the training mentioned at (i) and (ii)above. DELIVERY PERIOD: The delivery period for completion of SITC is 5 months from the date of placement of purchase order. 19.
