Dear Resident/Business,
The purpose of this newsletter is to inform you of the
outcome of the formal consultation carried out in March
2010, and to advise you of the Council’s decision for
proposals to introduce a 20mph speed limit in Hillcross
Avenue.
Representations
received
from
residents
regarding the proposals, along with officers’
recommendations were reported to the Cabinet Member
for Planning and Traffic Management on 22 April 2010,
who has agreed to proceed with the implementation of
the proposals as shown on the plan overleaf.
The Cabinet Member’s decisions are as follows:
• To proceed with the introduction of the 20mph
speed limit for Hillcross Avenue.
• To proceed with the removal of the 2 rasied speed
tables within the vicinity of Nos. 120 and 164
Hillcross Avenue.
• To proceed with the re-profiling of the ramp to the
speed tables within the vicinity of Nos. 92 and 188
Hillcross Avenue.
• To proceed with the making of the Traffic
Management Orders (TMO) for the implementation
of the proposed Hillcross Avenue 20mph speed
limit.

A plan identifying the area affected by the proposals and
the Council’s ‘Statement of Reasons’ can be inspected
at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road,
Morden, Surrey during the Council’s working hours,
Monday to Friday, between 9am and 5pm.
It is anticipated that the scheme will be implemented
before June 2010. Residents will be informed of when
the works are due to commence.

What Happens Next
The final made TMOs, which allow the proposals to be
implemented and administered, will be published in
the London Gazette and the local newspaper shortly.

affected area.
