Early in the morning: Transfer to Haneda Airport. Domestic flight from Haneda to Kushiro
Upon arriving at the airport, visit:
-Tsurumidai (site for viewing wild Japanese red-crowned cranes*)
Transfer to hotel in Akan
In the evening, visit Akan-ko Hyojo (Ice) Festival (held through March 10).
Stay at Akan Tsuruga Bessou Hinanoza for 2 nights
Full-day sightseeing in Abashiri
Transfer to Abashiri, located on the shores of Okhotsk Sea
-Board the icebreaker "Aurora" for drift ice sightseeing*.
-Okhotsk Ryu-hyo Museum (Drift Ice Museum)
Transfer back to the hotel in Akan.
Half-day sightseeing of Akan and Teshikaga
-Wakasagi (small fish) Ice Fishing on Lake Akan*
Transfer to Teshikaga, visiting
-Lake Mashu, famous for its clear water and misty landscapes.
-Mt. Iou
Afternoon, transfer to Kushiro Airport. Domestic flight from Kushiro to Haneda
Upon arrival at Haneda Airport, transfer to hotel in Tokyo
Stay at Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo or similar for 3 nights
Afternoon free at leisure
