the world an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in India
by supporting organizations and programs. The mission of the
Global India Fund is to inspire global philanthropy and service by
supporting innovative non-profit programs. To date, GIF has donated
over $700,000 to numerous programs across India with impressive

Girl Rising is a thriving global movement that uses the power of
storytelling to break down the barriers that prevent girls from going
to school.
HONORING GIRL RISING INDIA
Girl Rising India, a 2-year social action media campaign launching
October 10th, National Building Museum, Washington, D.C.
this August, will raise broad awareness and catalyze support for
girls’ education. At the center of the campaign is the premiere of the
Hindi production of the original Girl Rising feature film. With narration
in Hindi and four other languages, the film harnesses the talents
of Bollywood’s biggest stars, including Priyanka Chopra, Amitabh
Bachchan, and Nandita Das.
Girl Rising India will reach millions of people in theaters and on
television, and screened across the country in schools, boardrooms
and political stages, empowering girls to envision a different future for
themselves and inspiring the community around them to take action.

FREIDA PINTO
It is our great privilege to welcome our Global Ambassador
and producer of the upcoming Girl Rising India film, Freida
Pinto, as our gala co-host.
Freida Pinto is an actor, producer and advocate best known
for her starring role in the award-winning film Slumdog
Millionaire.
In 2012, Pinto became an ambassador for Girl Rising. She also
promotes gender equality by working as an ambassador for
Plan International’s Because I am a Girl Campaign.

GIRL RISING FILM SCREENING
OCTOBER 9, 2015 | 1:00 PM
Freida Pinto will host a screening of Girl Rising for local high
school, college and graduate students followed by a discussion
at George Washington University. GWU will manage local and
national press for this event including coverage by C-SPAN, New
York Times, Washington Post and CNN.

CHAMPIONS OF GR INDIA DINNER
OCTOBER 9, 2015 | 7:30PM
Join us for a special evening to celebrate and thank
our supporters. Major stakeholders, influencers, and the
Girl Rising family are invited for an intimate dinner in an
unforgettable setting. Press will not be in attendance.
