About The Institution of Engineers (India)
The Institution of Engineers (India) is the largest
multidisciplinary professional body that encompasses
15 engineering disciplines and gives engineers a global
platform to share professional knowledge. IEI has
membership strength of more than 0.7 million. Established in
1920, with its headquarters at 8, Gokhale Road, Kolkata
700020, IEI has served the engineering fraternity for over
nine decades. In this period of time it has been inextricably
linked with the history of modern-day engineering fields.

In 1935, IEI was incorporated by Royal Charter and remains
the only professional body in India to be accorded this
honour. Today, its quest for professional excellence has
given it a place of pride in almost every prestigious and
relevant organization across the globe. IEI functions among
professional engineers, academicians and research workers.
It provides a vast array of technical, professional and
supporting services to the Government, Industries, Academia
and the Engineering fraternity, operating from 111 Centres
spread across the country. The Institution has established
R&D centres at various locations in the country and also
provides grant-in-aid to its members and student community
to conduct research and development on engineering
subjects.
IEI conducts Section A & B Examinations in different
Engineering disciplines, the successful completion of which is
recognized as equivalent to Degree in appropriate field of
Engineering and the same is approved by AICTE (Refer
Extraordinary Gazette Notification, Part III Section IV
published by Government of India dated 6th January 2016)
and all the Universities in India & the Ministry of Human
Resources Development, Govt. of India. Every year as many
as 90000 candidates appear for these exams. For details,

Kerala State Centre (KSC) started functioning from 1947
onwards and has completed 68 years of yeomen services to
all Engineers both academic and practicing engineers. There
are 5 Local Centres of IEI Kerala State Centre, at Kochi,
Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode and Kollam. The Kerala State
Centre conducts technical talks in every Wednesday without
fail for the last 15 years and it is a unique activity
The Kerala State Centre is located in the heart of the
Thiruvananthapuram city and access to the State Centre for
the Engineers and public are very easy. IEI Kerala State
Centre has got a very good technical Library and consisting
of various branches of Engineering books and technical
periodicals.
The AMIE classes and GATE coaching classes are regularly
conducted by the Kerala State Centre.
The technical workshops, seminars, Technical exhibition,
National seminar of various engineering branches are also
frequently conducted in this Institution for the benefit of
practicing engineers and student community
About the Seminar
India is emerging as a manufacturing hub in the changing
scenario. While technology is adapted for manufacturing
activities, the necessary Human Resources have to be
generated in our country to take full advantage of this
change. IEI has a major role to play in this process. The
Seminar will highlight the major issues to be addressed .
Practising engineers, Researchers, academicians and the
professionals are brought under one umbrella to discuss the
issues in details and come out with a plan of action to meet
the above task.

Call for technical papers.
Technical Papers on the said themes are invited for
presentation at the All India Seminar from Engineers,
academic and practicing engineers. Title of the paper,
affiliation, A brief bio data with Telephone Number, mail ID
should be attached. The abstract as well as the full text of
the paper shall be typed/printed on A4 size paper. A soft copy
in CD should also be sent along with the hard copy. The
Technical Committee will review the papers and acceptance
will be communicated to the authors.
