This guide will walk you through the steps required to connect to your school's internet
connection on a device running XO-system 2.
From the home screen, swipe down from the top right corner to access your quick settings
menu.
When the quick settings menu drops down tap on the wifi option
option.
Now you should be in your wireless settings. Now you need to find your network and
click on it to connect. (For this guide I am connecting to One-Network-Class_1, your school's
will probably be different.)
Next, enter the password for your wireless network. If you do not know the password you
will need to ask your school's IT department. If you are asked for an identity
identity, enter your
internet username but leave anonymous identity empty.
If you are in NSW you might need to add @detnsw to the end of your username for this step
to work.
Then you should click show advanced options and copy the following settings:
Setting
Value
Proxy Settings
Manual
Proxy Hostname
localhost
Proxy Port
8020
Next we need to go to our installed apps and open Drony
Drony.
Once Drony has opened, swipe your finger from right of the screen to lef tt. This will
show the settings page of Drony.
You should then set the proxy port to 8020 and tap the Wi-Fi option
option.
Then choose your wireless network from the list that appears.
Under the manual proxy settings
settings, make sure the proxy type is set to plain http proxy.
Then scroll down and set the following settings:
Setting
Value
Hostname proxy.det.nsw.edu.au
Port
8080
Username <Your Username>
Password <Your Password>
If you do not know your proxy settings, please ask your ICT Coodinator.
Now scroll up to the top and set the first proxy type to manual
manual.
Next press the back button twice to return to the previous setting page and swipe from
lef t to right to get to the initial page
page.
Then press the OFF button at the bottom of the screen and trust the application
to finalise your settings.
You can now exit the application and test your internet connection!
