Boat trip over the Kromme Rijn
to Rhijnauwen
General conditions
The twisting river the Kromme Rijn flows through a splendid
wildlife area, called het Utrechtse landschap, which you can
enjoy at close quarters as we cruise by. You sail from the
centre of Utrecht over the the inner city canals and then the
outer canals to the woods of Amelisweerd where you can
make lovely walks and have lunch in various restaurants.
Departure Utrecht 10.30 am, arrival Rhijnauwen 12.00 am
Departure Rhijnauwen 2.30 pm, arrival Utrecht 4.00 pm
All departures are subject to conditions and availability; please make prior reservations. You can obtain current price information from our office that can be
contacted as shown above. All our agreements are subject to the conditions for the
transport of people as specified by the Central Office for Rijn and Inland Navigation (CBRB) and which are registered at the district court of Rotterdam. Cancellations of booked voyages are subject to our cancellation conditions as registered
at the Utrecht Chamber of Commerce under number GV-4780.

Shipping Company Schuttevaer is
pleased to offer you pleasant and
enjoyable boat excursions and tours
over the unique canal system of the
mediaeval city of Utrecht. With our
fleet of boats we provide both round
trips and party cruises the whole year
through. Our boats are covered-in and have a heating system,
though with good weather the roof panels and the side windows are of course wide-open. During the voyage we tell you all
about the hidden beauties of the city and about historic and
modern places of interest. Utrecht has a unique character with
its convivial terraces along the canals, the old centre with its
many churches and the beautiful parks along the encircling
defensive canal system (Singels).
The many museums and important
buildings of the city offer an interesting
and varied selection of art and historic
objects from many different areas of
interest; these include the railway
museum (Spoorwegmuseum), the music
box and street organ collection
(Van speelklok tot pierement), the Aboriginal Art Museum,
the astronomical observatory (Sterrenwacht de Sonnenborgh),
the waterworks museum (Waterleidingmuseum), the city
museum with adjoining Nijntje house (Centraal museum en
het Nijntje huis) and the cathedral tower (Domtoren). The boats
making the tours can put you down at and pick you up from all
of these places. Ask at the ticket booth for further details or

Our office can also help you with bookings for special trips
and packages such as a tour combined with a visit to a beer
brewery, a visit to the casino, a meal at a restaurant or some
other activity.

Departures daily every hour on the hour from 11 am to 5 pm.
In general there are also half hourly departures throughout
July and August as well as in the weekends of June and
September.

Departures daily at 11 pm, 1 pm, 2.30 pm and 4 pm during
the peak season of May to August. In April and September
there are usually only weekend departures.
The city has its own unique charm, whatever season it is!

Shipping Company Schuttevaer has boats for tours and party
ships suitable for large and small private groups. If you want
to charter a boat for your family or company we can offer you
a wide range of possible excursions; we sail not only in
Utrecht, Nieuwegein and IJsselstein but we also navigate
over the Kromme Rijn to Rhijnauwen.
We also make sailings over the beautiful river Vecht which
flows from Utrecht to Amsterdam; we can make stops in
Oud Zuilen (by castle Slot Zuilen), Maarssen, Breukelen,
Loenen, en Vreeland.
This arrangement is available for both groups and individuals.
