Getting started
After you have registered and received your username
and password, follow the instructions in this tutorial.
1. Open a web browser and type www.bamzonia.co.nz in the address bar
2. Click on Login
3. Enter your username and password, then click SIGN IN

4. Your account information will show. But for now, click on Lessons on the left
hand side
How do I take a lesson?
1. On Level 1: Discover tab, click the first lesson – What is Money?
2. Read each slide and click Next when you’re ready. Write down any
information you think is important. Remember, you’ll do a quick multichoice quiz at the end and each question relates back to what you’ve learnt.
3. Once you’ve gone through all slides, Bamzonia will ask if you’d like to take the
quiz:

4. You can choose to Play the lesson Again, or click Take Quiz.
5. Once you’ve finished Bamzonia will automatically mark your quiz and show
your results.
6. If you collected over 80% in correct answers you’ll receive 10,000 Zonian
credits which add to your account to start playing the 3D Island Regeneration
game.
How do I play the 3D Island Regeneration Game?
Everyone is allocated 100,000 Zonian dollar credits by default when first registering
for Bamzonia. These are used to play the game. Additional credits are earned by
answering enough questions correctly in the lessons (as noted above). These are
automatically transferred to the game.
1. Click on the Game icon on the left hand side of your screen
2. The first time you open the game you may be prompted to download Unity
Web Player. Unity is a trusted name and safe to use.
3. Click on unity web player install now
4. Once download is complete click on the notification button down on the
bottom left hand side of your taskbar:

5. Click Run
6. Click I Agree
7. Click Finish

8. Sometimes ‘plug-in software’ such as this can be blocked by your internet
browser. Unblock it so you can continue the game by clicking here:
9. Choose ‘Always allow plug-ins on bamzonia.co.nz’ and then click Done.
10. The game should then fully load and be available on your screen:
When you first see your island it is dark and quite dismal. The Bamzonianz need
your help to rebuild their island. As you do the rain stops, the sun starts to shine,
bright buildings will appear and the islanders become healthy, wealthy and happy:
the Island flourishes.
To start helping the Bamzonianz rebuild their island you need to click on Build

Read the BUILD mode instructions as it explains the process. Scroll down the
window to read more. Once you’re happy, click OK.
The Guru will tell you there are Five Districts, or Suburbs, and these will appear on
the right of the screen. You can start by clicking on any of these and start building.

How do I start building?

To see what you can build, click on Items.
These will appear at the top of the screen in various categories.
Let’s put some trees in our Coastal section
Click on Green Trees
5. To buy an item for the first time you need to pay to unlock it. This is like
paying for ‘Resource consent’. Click Yes to unlocking:
6. Once you have unlocked an item you can buy as many as you need. If you
decide you don’t want the item any more you may sell it by dragging it to
Sell item.

7. Click and drag the Green Trees to the brown Coastal section within the city.
You can zoom into the city by clicking the + symbol below the Guru or by
using your mouse wheel by rolling it forward.
8. Each time you drag some trees the cost is deducted from your account.
9. Keep adding as many trees as you like to your space, then add some lawn
10. Note the lawn icon is now unlocked and available for use throughout this
area. The Zonian credits are also decreasing as you add extra items.
11. Now add a playground slide. To do this you need to have amenities such as
parking.
12. Click on the Blue P item icon to choose a parking amenity. Again, you have
to unlock (pay) for this amenity. Choose a Small Car Park and drag and drop
it onto your space:

13. Then go back to your Green items and unlock the Blue Slide and drag and
drop it into your space. Unlock a Round Flower Bed and drop that next to
the slide. Note your City Health Red Heart points getting higher once
you’ve added these amenities to your city.
14. Continue to add whatever facilities you like, remembering to add public
amenities if need be. The example below shows a pool, tennis court,
basketball court, gardens, trees and public seating – along with a multi
complex to host the extra car parking demand.
Use your mouse, arrow keys, or the tool below the Guru to zoom or rotate the
island.
All items have a Health, Wealth, or Happiness value. As you rebuild your island, you
will see the score increase in the table below the screen. The same box shows you

how many credits you have left as well as how many parking spaces or power you
have, or need to buy.
When you have finished building, click on ‘End turn’. The screen will revolve and, if
you have built enough, other colourful buildings will start to pop up.

How do I play the Mini games?
At the top of the games Home screen are the Mini Game icons. Click on each and
follow the Guru’s instructions. They are a lot fun – some more difficult than others.
Fire Station:
1. Click on the Fire icon at the top of the Home screen:

3. Read the instructions on how to play
4. Once you’re happy with how to play, click OK

5. Click and hold the left mouse down while directing the water over the
flames. Good luck, there’s a time limit!
6. Try clicking the other games and playing them:

Airport
Seaport
At the bottom of the Bamzonia website there are links to topics that will help you
better understand the programme, and what its creators are trying to achieve with
