Emery Telcom College Scholarship 2016
Application Guidelines
Background:
The Emery Telcom College Scholarship program offers $1,000 scholarship awards to
high school students from Grand, Carbon, San Juan, and Emery Counties. The goal is
to provide financial aid to students who have demonstrated strong academics,
community involvement and a desire to further their education.
Because of limited funds, Emery Telcom will give priority to applicants who have not
been awarded other scholarships or educational financial grants.
The scholarship money can only be used for tuition, school fees and books. It will be
sent directly to the school the student is or will be attending. Money not used by the
end of his/her term at the institution will be forfeited and returned to Emery Telcom
with no opportunity for reclamation.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be a citizen or a legal resident of the United States.
• Any college-bound high school senior residing in Carbon, Grand, San Juan, or
Emery County may apply for the scholarship.
• Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Application Requirements:
• Must fully complete the provided application form.
• Must provide two references – one personal and one school. The references must
include name, address and telephone number.
• Must be able to provide acceptance letter or class schedule from a two or four
year post-secondary school, college, university, trade or technical school, if
selected as one of the winners.

Winners must submit an acceptance letter or class schedule from a two year or
four year post-secondary school by July 31st, 2016. Scholarship award will be
declared null and void if late.
Scholarship checks will be mailed to the school within 14 days of receiving the
acceptance letter or class schedule.

1. How receiving this scholarship will aid you in achieving your long-term
educational and career goals.
2. The role telecommunications plays in helping rural communities grow and
prosper in the 21st Century. All submissions become the property of Emery
Telcom.
