Park Rules
1. Damaging or removing park property, natural features and wildlife is prohibited.
2. No littering or dumping.
3. Loud and disruptive behavior is prohibited.
4. Advertising or commercial enterprise requires permission from the City Manager.
5. No camping without a written permit from the City Manager.
6. No fires except in designated areas. No wood provided.
7. Hunting and trapping is prohibited.
8. The only pets allowed in parks are domestic dogs and cats which must be
controlled at all times and secured to a leash no longer than 6 feet. Pet owners
must clean up after their pets and carry a device for this purpose.
9. No boating, swimming or wading.
Weather Cancellation
Parks and Recreation classes and programs that are held in a school are cancelled on days
when Pickerington Local School District schools are closed due to inclement weather.

Registration Information
Two separate 2-week swim sessions will be held beginning June 15. All swim classes meet Monday – Friday for 30
minutes. The second Friday of a 2-week class will be used in case of inclement weather and a make-up class must
be held. This is a progressive swim program. Child must prove competency from previous level they attended. The
pool administration reserves the right to test the swimming ability of all individuals for proper class placement.
Because of the structure of the program, all classes and schedules are subject to change and/or cancellation by
the Swim Lesson Coordinator as required by demand or weather. All children must be at least 3 years old by May
23, and potty trained. Online Registration will be available Wednesday, May 13.

Junior Sports Camp
Whether your child is a girl or a boy, a serious athlete or a
novice, the Junior Sports Camp is the perfect way for young
kids to be introduced to new sports! Each day a new sport
will be focused on. Coaches will lead fun-based drills and
games to give campers a brief introduction into the sport.

T-Birds T-Ball
A fun and highly instructional introduction to baseball for
3 and 4 year old boys and girls. Players learn the basics
of throwing, catching, fielding, batting and baserunning,
and then apply what they have learned in fun, noncompetitive games. A baseball glove is required for all

Mini Kickers
Former collegiate soccer player and coach, Eric Mialky,
will direct the camp which is designed to teach 3 - 5 year
olds the basic fundamentals of soccer. Through exciting
soccer related games and activities, campers will learn to
love the game of soccer in a fun and positive environment.

Hummingbirds Soccer
Children ages 3 - 6 have fun and learn the basics of
soccer: dribbling, passing, trapping, shooting, defense,
and positioning. Each session consists of instruction in
each aspect of the game, participation in fun drills that
are designed to teach fundamental skills to such young
children, and low-key, non-competitive games. Players
will be put into age-appropriate groups. All coaching will
be conducted by Jump Start Sports staff, but parents may
assist. Classes will be one hour between 5:30 - 7:30pm.
Parents receive team schedules one week prior to first
class.

Room to Run Stables Horse Camp
Come join us for a week filled with fun, learning
and new experiences! At Room to Run Stables,
your child will be assigned his/her own horse to use for
the week. We strive to teach students how to ride and
take care of horses through fun learning activities. Each
student will have ample riding time every day. They will
learn basic horse care by cleaning their horse and stall,
feeding and grooming each day. Highlights of the week
include hay rides and bathing a horse. We will also have
a daily crafts and horse related games. At the end of
the week students will demonstrate their riding skills by
participating in a show where parents, grandparents and
friends may come and watch! Give your child a week full
of memories that they will remember for a lifetime please
pack a lunch for your child and have them bring plenty to

graders? Picktown Sports and Arts Camp, hosted
by Violet Baptist Church is offering soccer, football,
basketball and cheer clinics along with the arts of music,
drama & crafts. Our special guest Roy Hall, a former NFL &
OSU wide receiver, is starting and ending our camp week.
Camp instructors include coaches from local athletic
associations and former Division I athletes. Our goal for
the week is to build confidence, creativity and character
in each camper in a positive environment. Parents can
stick around to hear speakers address relevant topics
that are current with our youth culture. Speaker sessions
will run concurrent to the camp. Saturday celebrates the
week and is open to all campers and their families. Skills

2015 is a big year in the City of Pickerington! The highly-anticipated ODOT safety and
beautification construction project along State Route 256 will begin in the spring of
our Bicentennial year. Once completed, the project will positively impact residents
and businesses who depend upon this important corridor by providing the following
benefits:
•Three (3) southbound lanes from State Route 204 to the traffic signal at Kroger/Giant Eagle
•Four (4) northbound lanes - just north of State Route 204 to the I-70 eastbound entrance ramp
•Three (3) northbound lanes from a point 400’ south of State Route 204 to State Route 204
•New southbound right turn lane from State Route 256 to westbound Refugee Road
•Medians throughout the corridor to help control access and improve traffic flow
•New ADA-compliant curb ramps and completion of missing segments of sidewalk along State
Route 256
•Traffic signal/intersection lighting upgrades to the nine (9) existing already-signalized intersections
•Resurfacing of almost six (6) miles of State Route 256 from I-70 to east corporation limit by the
community gardens
•Installation of over 400 new street trees to replace the approximately 240 existing street trees
which will be removed; Five different species of trees will be planted, all professionally selected for
size, growth rates, durability and aesthetics

properties will be maintained to fullest extent possible and coordination
with impacted property owners/businesses is a priority
•Utilization of roadside message boards to alert traffic of construction updates

Cancellation of Activities
The Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel activities due
to low enrollment. Decisions to offer activities are based upon pre-registration
numbers and made 48-72 hours in advance of the start date. Register early to help
avoid a cancelled or closed out activity. If class is cancelled or closed, you will receive
a full refund in the form of a check; no cash refunds. Refunds take about 3 weeks.

Refund Before the Activity Begins
Refunds will be made only before the start of the activity for one of the following
circumstances and a $10 processing fee will apply:
• When the refund is requested at least seven (7) days in advance (except where
otherwise noted) of the first activity meeting, provided it does not reduce the
participation level below the required minimum.
• When a Refund Request is completed and approved by the Parks and Recreation
Department.
• No refund will be given for activities under $10.
• No refund will be given for materials purchased.
No refunds will be given after the start of the activity.
