Panama Canal
Expansion
Panama
The program consists in the construction of
two new sets of locks - one on the Pacific
and one on the Atlantic side of the Canal.
Each lock will have three chambers and each
chamber will have three water reutilization
basins.
The program also entails the widening and
deepening of existing navigational channels
in Gatun Lake and the deepening of Culebra
Cut.
In order to open a new 6.1 km-long access
channel to connect the Pacific locks and the
Culebra Cut, four dry excavation projects
will be executed.

Chacayes HPP
Republic of Chile
Located in the Andes Mountains, the
Chacayes hydro project will be the first
phase of Pacific Hydro's new project
development in the Cachapoal Valley. The
delivery of this run of river hydro project in
October 2011 is critical to solving the
supply of capacity into the Chilean energy
grid and the reduced reliance on energy
from fossil fuels.
Chacayes will generate 558GWh per annum
of renewable energy for Chile's power
market, which is enough electricity to supply
twice the demand of the city of Rancagua
and will abate approximately 340,000 tonnes
per annum of greenhouse gas pollution.
