Welcome to the city where anything is
possible, whether it’s daytime or even at
night - an unforgettable port of call like no
other. Thanks to the long stopover, you can
experience Dubai just how you want: on
foot, in a limousine or a jeep, by seaplane
or helicopter, on the sand or on skis on the
snow, swimming with dolphins, in respectful
silence in places of worship or in the buzz of
the traditional markets or the most high-tech
malls in the world, or have some tea and then
dinner at the Atlantis, the two billion dollar
hotel. And if that isn’t enough, you can make
your own made-to-measure private excursion,
with driver and personal guide.
Jebel Harim, the Mountain of Women. High
up, 2,180 metres above sea level, you can
admire one of the most spectacular sights
of the Musandam peninsula, with gorges
and canyons shaped by nature, the ultimate
sculptor. And to round off, a majestic journey
by jeep of extraordinary, primordial beauty,
passing by valleys, acacia forests, Bedouin
villages, palm trees and wadis. If you prefer
to stay closer to the sea, a dhow will take
you through beautiful waters and past bright
chalk cliffs to Telegraph Island, where you
can take a dip in a sea that you will never
forget.
Staying more than one day here will allow you
to appreciate it in all its beauty and see Oman’s
most evocative sights, where nature is wild,
powerful and enchanting. You can explore it
on the blue waters of Musandam Bay on board
a traditional dhow. Or on a jeep through the
canyons that take you to Wadi Al Arbeieen. Or
in the Wahiba Sands, the great Omani desert.
In Arabic Muscat means “anchorage”. Delve
into everyday life in Old Muscat and the Muttrah
souk, and breathe in the profound spirituality
of the Grand Mosque. Try the dates, tea and
sweets, they’re like nothing you’ve ever tasted before a typical dinner, perhaps, under the stars
of the Arabian night.
You can sit at the wheel of a Ferrari in the first theme
park dedicated to the famous red cars, hold a real
falcon on your arm and watch it fly, play golf on one
of the most incredible greens in the world, find out
how the Guggenheim and Louvre in the Persian
Gulf are shaping up, contemplate the holiness of
the brilliant white Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque, treat
yourself to a barbeque in Al Khatim desert, or head
for the top of its dunes, the highest in the world. But
