• Silage is the largest part of the daily intake of most ruminants.
• To optimize palatability, feeding value and safety, silage characteristics should be as close as possible to fresh
forage.
• The foundation of a well-preserved silage is a fast and deep acidification.
• Low dry matter forages are prone to slow acidification, thus protein degradation and feed value losses.
• High dry matter forages are prone to aerobic instability & spoilage (dry matter losses).
• Depending on forage dry matter at harvest, challenges can be different (acidification, stability…).

What is happening in your silage ?
Efficient protein (PDI) g/Kg
Every troubles occurring during ensiling will have a negative impact on the
economical valorization of the harvest.
