What do all of our new Sport Classic
chronographs have in common?
The close relationship to the great
cars that inspired them.
Lightweight construction is of major importance,
as it is in motorsport. Because the casing is
traditionally the heaviest part of a watch, in the
new models this is made from aluminium.
A combination of components, borrowed from
automotive engineering: aluminium, stainless
steel and rubber are used in all of our new
Sport Classic chronographs. In some cases,
we’ve even used carbon, for example in the dial
of the 918 Spyder Sport Classic chronograph
and the 911 GT3 R Sport Classic chronograph.
Some components were especially hardened
with a PVD coating, a process used in auto­
motive engineering to ensure exceptional

The new Sport Classic chronographs were designed to be sporty. But what does that mean, exactly?
Both in motorsport and with watches this means one thing first and foremost: lightness. Every gramme that is shaved
off the weight affects the performance. In motorsport this is measured in hundredths of a second. This principle is
reflected in the new chronographs thanks to a light aluminium casing. The new smaller format of 42 mm diameter also
gives our chronographs a more sporty look than ever. The mix of materials – aluminium, stainless steel and rubber –
makes them robust yet lightweight and pleasant to wear.
The 918 Spyder Sport Classic chronograph.
The colour design of the 918 Spyder Sport Classic is based on the corporate design of the super sports car: Black
elements contrasted with glowing Acid Green. The integrated carbon on the dial symbolises the extreme lightness and
high performance of the Spyder. And that’s not all they have in common. Like the 918 Spyder, of which only 918 cars
will be manufactured, this model is also limited – to exactly 918 pieces.

The Sport Classic chronographs 911 and 911 Turbo.
A key element in the design of the new 911 Sport Classic chronograph is the current external colours of the
Porsche 911 Carrera. While the Sport Classic 911 is entirely in classic Silver, the Sport Classic 911 Turbo model
opts for understatement in its colour scheme: Macadamia Metallic coupled with a Black base. The dials of both
models feature a pyramid structure reminiscent of the old days of motorsport. The pyramid structure is a jagged
profile that is achieved by a process known as ‘knurling’. In automotive engineering this facilitates higher torque
in shaft-hub connections. This pattern is also found around the edges of calibration screws, ensuring better grip
and greater precision.

The secret of PrimaLoft ® is its microfibres, which are woven into a fine textile.
PrimaLoft ® is light, soft and, unlike other materials, such as down, retains warmth even when
wet. It insulates perfectly, while remaining breathable. It is windproof, waterproof and dries
quickly. PrimaLoft ® can also be packed tightly so it takes up very little space in your luggage.
The jacket can be rolled up and stored in the jacket’s own inner pocket. Once it is unpacked

Never

early.
The Baby Porsche RSR push-along car is in pole position
to win the hearts of the tiniest motorsport enthusiasts.
We expect it to be at least as successful as its design
inspirations from the world of motorsport, the 918 RSR
and the long-distance legend 911 GT3 RSR.
The famous abbreviation RSR stands for ‘Rennsport Renn wagen’ or ‘motorsport racing car’ and was used for the first
time in 1973 with the Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.0. This
car was developed specifically for GT races and in its fi rst
season won 3 international and 7 national championships.
This legend has found a worthy and highly successful
successor in the 911 GT3 RSR, which races in the FIA World
Endurance Championship, the American Le Mans Series
and in the International GT Open. Porsche invested the most
up-to-date technology and efficient drive systems in this
series, and their approach to the Baby Porsche RSR is
no different: here, too, it’s all about performance. In this
case the drive takes the form of the muscle power of
the little driver, who moves the body of robust plastic in
Silver Blue Metallic.
The Baby Porsche RSR is the perfect starter car for
youngsters aged 1.5 to 3 years old. Consider this the first
stage in a journey into the grand world of Porsche motorsport, which may lead via the 911 kids’ pedal car to
the Porsche Junior Programme and a place in the cockpit
for the 911 GT3 Cup, perhaps even behind the wheel
of a 911 GT3 RSR. Porsche has been fostering young talent
through the Junior Programme since 1997. Young drivers

The Porsche calendar:
Coveted since 1954.
The Porsche calendar has always been something special –
collection. Intended as a gift for Porsche employees,
not just because of our sports cars. Just as Porsche
a calendar in a limited edition of 7,000 copies featuring
vehicles stand out for their unique design, our calendars

Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG has published an annual calendar.
The first edition was released in 1954 together with
Christophorus, Porsche’s customer magazine. In keeping
with the practice at that time of publishing customers’
travelogues in the magazine, the calendar also included
photos sent in by Porsche enthusiasts. These included
pictures of skiing trips in the mountains or visits to the
pyramids of Egypt, always involving a Porsche, of course.
Later on, the calendar’s design was entrusted entirely to
renowned photographers, designers and artists.
In 1962 the magazine included a medal for the first time.
The idea behind this was to give our customers a ‘talisman
to accompany them on every trip’. In the meantime, the
Porsche medals and calendars have become muchcoveted collector’s items. Unlike the calendars produced by
other German auto makers, old Porsche calendars fetch
handsome prices, according to Marcel Seidel, proprietor
of Seidel & Friedrich auctioneers in Ladenburg. An early
edition of the Porsche calendar in good condition and with
the collector’s coin can be worth over £500. What is the
reason for this? Since price is determined by demand, it is

The 911 GT3 RSR and the 911 GT3 R Hybrid represent motorsport in its purest form – now you can bring
motorsport to your living room. Both of these racing cars were developed by Porsche Motor Sport
in Weissach and were built in a custom manufacturing workshop. They are built by hand, just like the
collector’s models.
Of course, there is a difference of scale. This makes them not miniature copies, but miniature originals,
which can take pride of place in any collection. Of course, the cars are best placed in pole position, just like
their full-size models the 911 GT3 RSR and 911 GT3 R Hybrid. Both of these successful models played a
major part in notching up Porsche Motorsport’s 30,000 race wins.

The central
locking mechanism.
Porsche associates motorsport with more than just the racetrack. It’s also part of daily life.
For example, the central wheel locking system has made a transition from being a technical
function to a design feature in Driver’s Selection by Porsche Design accessories.
The central locking system serves as a simpler way to affi x wheels to a car. Instead of
the typical wheel nuts, wheels with central locking are affi xed with just a single wheel bolt.
This allows wheels to be fi tted quicker, saving precious seconds that can make the
difference between winning and losing a race. The technology was developed as far back
as the 1920s and first appeared on Italian racing cars before spreading throughout the world.
Porsche has used the central locking mechanism for some time now, and indeed was the
first car maker to take them from the racetrack onto the street in the form of the wheels of
the RS Spyder, which are also available for the Porsche 911 Turbo S and 911 GT2 RS.
Some Driver’s Selection by Porsche Design accessories were constructed based on
the central locking mechanism design: wine bottle stoppers, pens and bottle openers that
add a touch of motorsport to everyday life. A number of items are made from original
Porsche parts, such as the office organiser. You may not win any races, but it’s certain to
