While we begin to wrap up our local snow season this month our club is getting in gear to embark on our biggest trips of the season. A group just departed to Big Sky, Montana where they will enjoy Ski In/Ski Out lodging, a day off to snow mobile, and possibly an encounter or two with some moose. When our group out west returns the local resorts will be preparing for pond skimming, and we will be preparing for our Annual Trip to Killington, Vermont. Only this year, with a twist, we will be attending Snoe Down, a musical festival hosted by Moe. In addition to those we also have our annual snow/spring camping trip in the mix so don't fret we're still going. I'd like to put the spotlight on a trip we've been trying to launch for a couple years now, MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN. This trip will take place in early April... if this is something you may be interested in please read the trip write up below. Mammoth California Late Season Trip Mammoth Mountain Wed. 4/3/13 – Mon. 4/8/13 Trip Cost: $1500 Signup and $750 Deposit Due 2/15 For everyone who hates that the season starts wrapping up by the beginning of April, we’ve got a trip for you! Right now Mammoth Mountain has the largest ski base of any resort in North America! Not only that, Mammoth Mountain has one of the longest seasons in the States, boasting a season that often stretches into June. So what better place to go for our late season trip than Mammoth California. This trip will be sure to keep your season going long after everyone else has hung their skis up for the summer. If the long season isn’t enough, check the stats and you’ll see that Mammoth lives up to its name by being simply massive - a vertical rise of 3,100 ft, nearly 400 inches of snow a year, and 3,500 skiable acres! We’ve priced out a great trip that will get you out on the snow for 4 great days over 5 nights at a time when you simply can’t ski or ride just about anywhere else. The trip price includes the works – flight, lodging, transportation, lift tickets, and 2 meals a day. When : Wednesday, April 3rd – Monday, April 8th, 2013 Where : Mammoth Mountain, CA Cost : $1500 Note – the trip cost is subject to change and will be finalized once we get signups. But, we tend to be pretty good with it so changes will be minimal.
