INTRODUCTION
CERTIFICATION
Trade winds Aviation Services Academy, is a fully
fledged training facility with a capacity of twenty five
participants per class. Training is done in
adherence with Kenya Civil Aviation Authority
Regulations, IATA and company standards. Our
instructors are approved by KCAA and IATA to
conduct the various trainings. The company has
four branches in Nairobi, Mombasa, Malindi and
Kisumu with an average of eight hundred and sixty
staff.
Tradewinds Aviation Academy is an IATA DGR
Accredited Training School thus, authorised to
certify with IATA Certificate.

COURSE OUTLINE
Dangerous Goods Regulations CAT 3, 6, 7,8,9,10,11
and 12: (Refresher Period - 2years)
The purpose of this training program is to help Shippers
preparing dangerous goods, Freight Forwarders involved
in processing of dangerous goods; operators and ground
handling agents accepting dangerous goods understand
what substances and articles constitute Dangerous
Goods and the limitations applicable to the transport of
Dangerous Goods by air. This training programme has
been developed in compliance with ICAO Technical
Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods
by Air and as codified in Annex 18.After successful
completion of this course the participants will:
Apply the Dangerous Goods Regulations correctly.
1.1 Ramp Safety Training: (Refresher Period - 2years)
Purpose: to provide knowledge and understanding of
airside safety regulations, policies and procedures.
Course content:

Development of safety culture,

Airport familiarization and safety

Human factors

Emergency procedures, safety and
occupational safety.
1.2 Aviation Security: (Refresher Period - 2years)
Course Content: Aviation threat and risk history,
components of risk assessment process, access
controls, working at the airport, recognition of explosives,
patrolling and guarding.
1.3 Passenger Services Training: (Refresher Period 2 years)
Course Content: Checking in procedures, travel
documentation, special categories of passengers,
aircraft documentation, Departure control systems
(DCS).
1.4 Customer service: (Refresher Period - 2years)
Course Content: Behavioral competency, attitude and
cultural awareness, managing diverse personalities,
creating first impression.
1.5 Aircraft handling and loading:
