have made a collection of businesses that the majority of people
will agree are most certainly at the top as the best.
Key West is a city that is located at the southernmost point of
Florida. Key West, Florida is a city rich in history and in beauty.
The Florida Keys have been a tourist destination for over a
century and has attracted not only tourists from all over the
world, but also many notable people and politicians, including
several presidents from the mid-20th century.
1. Pier House Resort and Spa
This resort sits right on the beach, but at the same time is situated right in the heart of exciting

Laid back unique restaurant with excellent food. Blue Heaven is away from the major Duval St
attractions. The restaurant is like eating in someones backyard. There are plastic chairs, glass
tables, chicken running around. It is a very unique atmosphere done very creatively. Very down
home backyard feel.
Tips
However, one thing to note is that parking is extremely limited and they kindly ask that if possible
please bike, moped, take a taxi or walk to keep their neighbors happy. They are centrally located
just two blocks from Duval Street and like to remind people that just walking allows you to
experience the nice laid-back pace of Key West that could be missed zipping down the streets in a
car.

There is live entertainment almost every day at the Hog's Breath. The first show typically starts at

The Dry Tortugas are named as such, because they were discovered around the 1500s by a
Spanish explorer named Ponce De Leon. These islands were unhabited by people, and they still
aren't. The reason why they're not inhabited by people, is because they are simply too small and
too shallow for any human life. But a huge reason why humans can't inhabit these islands is
because there is no fresh water on the islands. This is why the islands are partially known as
being dry. Although they aren't dry per se, there is no fresh water, and so the dry name stuck.
They are known as tortugas, because the islands reminded the explorers of the shape of the
turtle, and many sea turtles inhabited the island. In old times, the sea turtles were used as food,
and they were kept on the ships of the explorers. When the explorers got hungry, they would cook
the meat of the turtles for food consumption.
there are over 200 species of birds that are said to be natives of this island, although only seven
species actively produce life on the islands currently.
These islands were designated as being part of the National Park System for the U.S. During the
early part of the 20th century, President Theodore Roosevelt designated these islands as a bird
refuge, because Pres. Roosevelt instituted the National Parks System.

Fort Zachary Taylor Beach
One first beach you can spend your time in Key West is Fort Zachary Taylor Beach. It is a pre-civil
war beach made up of about 87 acres. Its beach is textured with a mix of sand and coral. If you
are the type that enjoys deep sea diving, you can even do some snorkeling to view the tropical
fish and the rock pile barriers. You can reach Fort Zachary Taylor Beach by bicycle quicker, but if
you would like a nice long enjoyable walk, you can also travel by foot as well. You may also drive
up to the beach and park in the available spots or be dropped off by taxi near the concession
stand.
