FIELD CHAIR
CONSTRUCTION:
The chair is extremely solid and is constructed so as to be
stable in use, even on uneven ground/surfaces, e.g. tent
floors. There are no sharp edges that could cause damage to
floors.
In addition the back rest is adjustable, in order to suit different sitting positions. It can also be fitted with armrests.
TRANSPORT/STORAGE:
The field chair is collapsible and requires very little place
during transportation and storage.
It is equipped with removable seat/back cushion covers in
relation to washing and changing. Both the seat and back rest
are upholstered for best possible comfort.

SURGICAL FIELD STERILE WASHBASIN
CONSTRUCTION:
The Washbasin is designed so that everything fits into one
aluminium transportation crate that also functions as the base
of the Washbasin. It is equipped with, pump, hot water tank,
soap dispenser (operated with elbow), water tap (operated
with leg), hose for waste water.
Fast assembling/dismantling and easy cleaning, all material
is of aluminium or stainless steal.
It can also be equipped with a hand shower.
Is supplied with 2, built in, lifting handles and several
washbasins can be stacked on each other during transportation/storage.

The Field Washbasin has been developed in cooperation with
the medical personnel of the Norwegian Ministry of Defence
and is used by personnel who have a need for a high degree
of personal hygiene in respect to operations and medical
work.

The Field Washbasin is designed for personal
hygine for personnel who, for a period of time,
are confined to a camp, or place, where normal
washing facilities are absent in relation to accommodation, dinning areas and places of work etc.

The whole washbasin is designed so that everything fits into one aluminium transportation crate
which is also designed to function as the base of
the washbasin. The washbasin is equipped with
a 25 litre water tank, hose for waste water. Fast
assembling/dismantling and easy cleaning. All
material is of aluminium, or stainless steal.

The Field Bed is extremely flexible and is produced in aluminium ensuring solid construction and long life. It is very
flexible and can be delivered in the following variants:
To provide for the privacy of personnel (soldiers), Giax,
together with the Norwegian Ministry of Defence, have developed a flexible solution for the partitioning of the NM240
in order to provide the possibility of a living room/bedroom,
or office.
1 cabin is divided into 2 rooms, but can easily be converted
into 1 by removing the partition wall. In this manner one can
chose the solution that most suits the individual concerned.
For the best possible environmental climate it is also possible to ventilate via the original ventilation duct of the
NM240 and aeration occurs via a mosquito net in the roof.
The cabin can be equipped with different hanging possibilities for personal equipment.

SLEEPING/OFFICE ACCOMMODATION
EXTRA EQUIPMENT
The user was the main concern when developing the NM240
tent systems; therefore, there has been close cooperation in
the development of the electrical equipment adapted for the
tent systems. These are easily mounted to the tent’s aluminium frame and the electrical cables are shielded for protection
during daily use.
Emergency light: the emergency light with 2 double
sockets, adapted so as to be mounted directly into the tent’s
aluminum profile over the door. It emits a weak light which
contributes to the occupant not needing to switch on the
tent’s light on entry, especially during the night when, for
example, changing watches.

Work lamp: Lamp for use in the service centre section, for

AREA OF USE:
The connection tent has been developed in cooperation with
the Norwegian Ministry of Defence in order to make the
NM240 more flexible, in that several users can utilize the use
of the common entrance, reception or social room. The tent
can also be used as an independent unit.
Construction:
The connection tent has been built on the same principle as
the NM240, but has a weight-bearing pillar in the middle.
It can be utilized as an independent tent, or as a connection
between as many as four NM240 tents, where they are joined
together in a cross formation, in reality only fantasy curtails
the use. The tent can be adapted for heating or cooling if
required and in all corners. It is equipped with 4 windows
and a PVC floor. If required the tent can be utilized as an
extension of the NM240, or supplied with partition walls and
door between the connection tent and the NM240. Lighting
and all other equipment for the NM240 can be mounted and
utilized as normal in the connection tent. The connection
tent is ideal for use in relation to the building of a dining/entertainment hall, or as an extension to a hospital unit.
Simultaneously with the use of a special connection tent it
can be connected directly to a standard 20 foot container, for
example a kitchen unit.

CONNECTION TENT
So that the tent can be well utilized in different areas of use,
or partitioned into several rooms, GIAX, together with the
Norwegian Ministry of Defence, has developed a simple
dividing wall that easily separates each section of the tent
(3.5m). These can be used as open office areas/hospital.
The partition wall is fitted with a door in the middle for ease
of passage, place for the ventilation duct in the corner and a
standard lamp in the middle.
Mounted directly into the tent frames built in tracks, without
the need for screws.

AREA OF USE:
The connection tent has been developed in cooperation with
the MOD for the sole reason as a connection to the NM240,
or to connect directly to the kitchen-container delivered by
Camp Supply International AS. Such a connection makes
the NM240 well suited as a serving area and dining hall
for larger gatherings, the whole kitchen, plus equipment, is
easily accessible both for the serving of food and the return
of crockery and cutlery for washing etc. The tent can be
delivered with windows.
MULTIPURPOSE TENT NM240
CONSTRUCTION:
The tent has extremely good insulation capabilities and is
constructed to withstand much heavier amounts of snow than
other, more conventional tents.

The tent has been developed in close/cooperation with the
Norwegian Ministry of Defence in order to cover all needs of
a tented camp, phase 2, (established for 3 months plus) for use
in both tropical and arctic conditions. It has been tried/tested
by Norwegian defence forces in the field, as an accommodation, surgical/hospital, storage tent, also as a dinning hall and
chapel. It has even been used as camouflage for containers

user’s requirements, as an office/dining hall table, or for
private use in accommodation.
It can be screwed together for stability and the legs are
adjustable to accommodate uneven ground.
Norwegian Export Material
The Ministry of Defence (MOD) have developed its own support material.
Now other countries will have it.
Norwegian producers. In so far as it has been possible to do so, the MOD has chosen small, or medium
sized producers, here in Norway, to deliver the required
materials. Several small companies have therefore been
given the chance to market themselves.
The MOD always insists on high quality when purchasing. Therefore we chose to develop the support
material ourselves and in this way ensured that the
required needs of the end-users were met in the way
of security, quality and logistical ease. That we, for the
most, chose Norwegian suppliers had its background in
quality requirements and the ease of production followup, Said Major Rudi Løken, Support Material Acquisition officer for The MOD.
Several interested parties. The support material that,
for the most, is required for operations abroad, cover
everything from tent solutions to large container based
field kitchens, toilets, showers and washrooms. Løken
can enlighten on the fact that the concept has created
great interest from foreign military technical personnel
and authorities where special tent solutions, produced
by Gudbransdal Industrier (GIAX), have been enquired
after. We know that Austria will be purchasing the
tent, but the final figure has not yet been declared. The
Danes have also been very positive, especially after we
took some tents with us to Denmark earlier in the year.
Great Britain has also been in the picture. It is therefore
a great pleasure to see that The MOD has managed to
develop a product that has created so much interest,
said the Major.
Concerning export it is first and foremost the Norwegian suppliers that will have most to gain from this, but
The MOD will receive a royalty payment for each sale
undertaken.
We have only requested a small percent of the sum,
which we will use for further development of
the tent solutions, said Løken.
Satisfied users. The Norwegian camp, Camp Nidaros
close to the town, Mazar-e Sharif in Northern Afghanistan has, for two and a half years, made use of
the support material. Feedback from the users has on
the whole been positive, which was confirmed when
the Commanding Officer for the Norwegian Forces in
Afghanistan Colonel gave his assessment:
The tents function extremely well in their use and have
shown to be resistant to the hard weather down here in
an outstanding way. There is no doubt that the material
is of the finest quality as, after over two years in use, it
is still in very good condition. The sanitary containers
are excellent and the chefs prepare good Norwegian
food in the field kitchen, said the contingent officer.

GIAX has produced a clothes hanger for us in the NM240
which can be mounted directly to the tent’s framework.
It is very solid and can withstand a lot of weight; legs drop
down to give extra support.
It has24 hooks and all kinds of clothing/equipment can been
hung on it, irrespective of weight!
