The center is open Monday through Friday from
8:00 am until 5:00 pm. The Center is closed 12
days per year in observance of designated holidays.

What is Adult Day Services?
Daily Activities
The YWCA of Bethlehem Adult Day Services Center
was created in 1984 to meet the needs of women
and their families. The center provides a licensed,
therapeutic, social day care program for senior women
and men ages 60 years or older and provides respite to
caregivers.
Activities in the social wellness program
that “bring the community inside” include:
The purpose of the program is to avoid early nursing
home placement so that older adults can remain with
their families for as long as possible. In addition, it is
the goal of the program to help caregivers lessen stress,
continue to remain employed and to have a chance to
revitalize themselves.
• Pet Therapy
Admission Criteria
YWCA Adult Day Services clients:
• Are 60 years of age or older
• Are capable of being transported to and from
the program
• Require supervision in a safe and structured
environment during the day
* Individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease,
Dementia, Mental Disability, Parkinson’s Disease,
or any other physical disability are welcomed.
• Health Monitoring (blood pressure, weight, etc.)
• Social Services
• Music Therapy
• Arts and Crafts
• Intergenerational programming
• Chair Exercises and Walking Club
• Bowling
• Gardening
• Bingo and other games
• Baking and Cooking Club
• Weather Monitoring & Current Events
Meals
A morning and afternoon snack and a hot lunch are
provided daily in our bright and sunny dining room.
Staffing
Our dedicated staff includes an Executive Director,
Center Director, an RN, an Assistant Director
who also serves as Recreation Director, Assistant
Recreation Director, Client Services Coordinator
and Program Aides, all of whom are trained in
geriatric services.

or inactivity of a family member?
Are you providing care for – or worrying about –
an elderly family member?
Would rest from full-time care help you to become
an even better caregiver or help you stay healthy?

our Adult Day Services may be right for you.

Program Fees and Subsidies
Daily program fees are reasonable. Northampton
and Lehigh County Area Agencies on Aging offer
funding for subsidized care. Contact your Area
Agency on Aging to determine your eligibility.
Clients are welcome 5 to 1 days per week, and
availability is on a first-come, first-served basis.
The YWCA of Bethlehem also offers financial
aid to those who quality.
