Zone - Family life.” This information is designed for families with children
of all ages and brings you important news and event/cultural listings to keep
you informed (as well as entertained!) here in Prague.
As a mother of a 2-year-old son myself, I’m aware of the need to find suitable
activities for keeping little ones occupied. Our listings also provide Mom,
Dad, and older siblings with the best of Prague’s happenings. With so much
going on, our monthly picks for fun stuff to do can be a helpful timesaver.

Are you looking for a nice way to spend
the morning with your toddler and make
friends? Maybe you are new to Prague
or to motherhood and would like to meet
other parents with kids? Here is one
good way to meet people and enjoy singing and dancing with
your young one. The Parent-Child Music Playgroup is a relaxed
and informal introduction to music and rythmn through singing
English nursery rhymes and songs, playing instruments and
performing simple dance moves. The session also includes arts
and crafts specially suited for younger children. The ideal age
range for children is 1 to 4 years old, but we also host many
younger babies who attend with their parents and siblings.

Morning / Afternoon Activities
Detsky Ostrov (Children's Island)
Prague's smallest island is designed for children. It's a leafy little
haven with lots of trees, next to a water lock where you can watch
the boats go up and down the river. There are sandpits, swings,
climbing frames, ramps and more. The playfground is fenced
and supervised so it is secure and clean. Admission is free. There
are benches all around for you to sit watch your kids. It is never
too crowded. There's a restaurant/bar where you can get
refreshments and enjoy watching the boats go by.

This popular recreational area with its and beaches is a paradise
for swimming and water sports. Summer festivities and social
events are held in Doksy and Staré Splavy. The surrounding
area offers both forests with some interesting rock formations
and numerous historic monuments. Two small islands - the Myší
and Kachní - are important ornithological reserves but are
inaccessible.
Activities include: Swimming and water sports, hiking and boat
trips on Lake Mácha. The heart of the Mácha region is the town
of Doksy which along with Lake Mácha and the town of Dubá
create the point of departure into the beautiful countryside of
Dubské Švýcarsko and Kokořínsko. The gothic royal castles of
Bezděz to the east, the castle ruins of Starý Berštejn to the west,
castle Houska to the south and castle Ralsko to the north are
the dominant features of the Mácha region.

Cervena Lhota
Cervena Lhota Castle is located in Southern Bohemia,
approximately 20 kilometers from Jindrichuv Hradec.
The castle stands on a rocky island in the middle of a lake, and
is connected to land by a stone bridge. Červená Lhota Castle is
one of the most frequently visited castles in the Czech Republic.

for children and youth) which offer a variety of activites most of
them for free. Most activities are in Czech, but childern can have

CHARITY drop-off
Anything you can spare for children in need (age 0 - 3 years) such
