Gurdon Little League enthusiasts plan old-timers fund raising game for Saturday, April 5
(Continued from page 8)
Cost to participate will be
$125 per team and meals will be
sold at the event.
All profits will go to support
Gurdon Little League, T-ball and
softball. There will be other
fundraising efforts going on at the
softball field. If anyone has any
questions, call Rhodes at: (870)
703-2965.
The ball playing group had
an organizational meeting on
Thursday night and elected officers for the year. They also
formed a jamboree committee for
the old-timers event slated for
April 5. One other fundraising
possibility discussed was a dunking booth.
If any child wants to sign up
to play ball, he or she may register from 9 until noon on Saturday,
Feb. 15 at the Gurdon City Hall.
Rhodes said practices this
year will be conducted at Gurdon,
but due to field conditions the
games will probably be played in
Arkadelphia, as they were last
year.
"We will be sanctioned this
year," Rhodes said. "In years
past, we have had between 130
and 150 kids to participate.
“ We hope to have at least
that many again."
If you want your child to sign
up, and you can not make it
Saturday, call Rhodes and make
arrangements. Game time, or
times, for the softball fundraiser,
will be announced.
