Summary description: Reconstruction of cabin production development provides for manufacture of automotive vehicles in the volume of 35 thousand cabin units per year, according to the Development Program of Automobile Industry of the Republic of Belarus; guarantees modern equipment and technologies implementation, which will allow to improve quality and reduce the cabin manufacturing costs, to increase export potential of the Republic of Belarus. Project status: The main types of cabin designs were developed and their spectrum is being expanded; the production plan was approved; the technology and new production building planning were preliminary worked through, the processing equipment specifications were developed and the equipment purchasing documents are being prepared; the approximate main costs were estimated, the business-plan is being worked out, requirements in areas for factory building including all infrastructure of a future facility and its location is specified. Project description: The production of Minsk Automobile Plant involves vehicles meant for all types of motor trucking. OJSC “MAZ”, produces more than 300 models and modifications of different purpose vehicles of engine exhaust gas emission levels Euro-3, Euro-4. Variations of market conditions force to continuously widen the spectrum of output production with the stable provisioning of their high quality. However the existing cabin production facilities can not guarantee the vehicles 2 manufacturing forecast plans realization and provide the required quality of end production. The project provides for the cabin production re-equipment in extrusion, welding and painting production areas. This will make it possible to catch up with the backlog of production facilities, to significantly improve the cabin framework and their rust-proof quality, to provide competitiveness of the products due to cabin exterior development. New technologies, location of production beneath the same roof make it possible to significantly reduce the work content and manufacturing costs. А4а. Project cost, USD million: 331 А5. Background /history/overall programe/related or similar projects: The bases for proposal development of the cabin production factory construction for vehicles generation MAZ-6430 shall be Resolution No. 07/5 pr. of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus V.I. Semashko of January 8, 2009 and the list of prospective investment projects by the Ministry of Industry organization, approved by the Ministry of Industry as of March 10, 2008, which implementation starts from 2009. А6. Environmental impact summary: The technologies intended to minimize the environmental impact shall be used. А7. Possible obstacles/problems/risk degree: The short time for project implementation presupposes a parallel design and construction of the factory. Aggressive advertising and marketing policy in the near and far abroad countries is required in order to guarantee sales of new output production. А8.
