weeks. We will be sculpting ditches and replacing culverts beginning on
Assiniboia Avenue and Martin Street, continuing down Assiniboia to the
church and all of Glenn Street. When we have a firm start date those
affected residents will be informed by letter.
We are planning significant investment in our water treatment plant, lagoon infrastructure as well as land development in 2015. While details

Sedley Spray Park Committee
Who: We are a group of 13 Sedley residents who are
dedicated to raising funds to build a spray park in our
community.
What: We aim to raise $150,000 to cover the construction and components of a spray park.
Where: The plan is to construct the spray park in the
green space by the tennis court and rink.
When: Our fundraising efforts will start immediately.
We plan to fundraise aggressively with a goal of
starting construction on the park in spring/summer
2017.
Why: We feel that there is a need for further recreational facilities in our growing community, especially
for our youth. A spray park is a fun and unique way
to encourage exercise. We hope it will create a sense
of community as it will be a gathering place for families. We intend for it to be a regional attraction,
drawing in residents from other towns to bring business to Sedley.
How: We will reach our goal through fundraising, donations, and grants. The fundraising events that we
are currently planning are an NHL playoff draft, Mother’s Day tea, Canada Day community event, Tupperware sales fundraiser, outdoor movie night, 5K fun
run, and more to come. Our group is even going to
put on our boots and gloves to clean ditches for the
Department of Highways!
Volunteers are the backbone of every small community!
From the CAO
It’s that time of year where we like to remind you
about a few things:
Recycling Rate Increase - Effective April 1st there
will be a $1/month increase in the recycling rate
that shows on your utility bill. You’ll see the increase on the next utility bill.
ATV’s - The use of ATV’s in Sedley is prohibited.
You can ride your machine from your house, and
then head out of town. If you see one riding about
town, please take a picture and send it to the Village Office and we will advise the RCMP.
SLOW DOWN!!! - We have noticed quite a few residents speeding in town. We can cut down on the
amount of road dust, if you just drive slower. Keep
our streets safe and obey the 40 km/h speed limit.
Cats - Just a reminder that cats should not be running at large. If you notice a cat about, contact the
Office and we will put out the cat trap. If a cat is
trapped, it is taken directly to the Regina Humane
Society.
Dogs - We’ve had an increased number of complaints about dogs being unleashed while in their
own yard. While this is not prohibited, dogs running out at children and other people walking
about the community is not allowed. Keep control
of your dogs at all times.
Recycling/Garbage/Landfill Schedule - I’ve had a
few requests for copies of this schedule. It’s hanging on the community bulletin board at the Office,
but a copy is on the back page of this newsletter.
