Expanded Data Coverage
 Earth Models
 XYZ function sets
 1D basin models
 Seismic stacking velocities
 GeoShapers
 Arbitrary points, lines, polygons, & connected ribs
 Geotiff file catalog
 Inter-well attributes
 Attributes or properties between well control
 Used to control the shape of contour maps
 Fracture job monitoring
 Will continue to add additional data types as needed

Context - Metadata
 Many items in data models like
OpenWorks could be thought
of as metadata
 True measured data is largely well
logs and seismic
 Much of the related information in
the data model adds context to this
information
 Most of what we capture about
interpretation beyond geometry,
topology, and property data could
be though of as metadata

Metadata for Different Users
 Data Managers
 Have longer history in defining metadata needs
 Used primarily for managing and finding data
 Technical End Users
 Not thought of as “metadata”
 Captures history of data over time
 Gives context to data used in common workflows
based on domain references

Knowledge Capture - Interpretation Sets
Default organization of
data typically by data type
ISets are a mechanism to
provide robust, flexible
grouping of data and
interpretations
