ALUMNI IN THE BIZ ...
Justin Gailitis (01) is now a Broadcast Associate for FOX
Network. His current work can be seen as 15 second NASCAR
bumps on FX and FOX. He did graphics for the Super Bowl pregame, half time and post game shows. For you rapper fans,
Justin also worked on the Ludacris shoot for the FOX Super
Bowl pre-game show. For his upcoming graphics assignment he
will be stationed in Amsterdam, doing the NFL Europe games.
Congratulations Justin on your hard work and success!
One of HOM-TV’s most vivid memories of Justin is when he
arrived one-half hour late for a shift. The semester had been one
where it seems a number of interns were habitually late. As interim
Station Manager, Deborah decided to make an example of the next
late intern, which just happened to be Justin. To make amends for
his lateness, Justin was required to be the male stand-in for a music
video we were shooting, “Barbie Girl”. To this day, anyone who
regularly arrives late must watch this video!
interning for a video project at a small studio
called 0816 Studio.
Sue Teitle (89) is Production Manager in Los
Angeles, CA for TelevisionWeek Magazine.

Brian Toth (97), wife Kristin and 1 year old
Lauren Parrott (05) has accepted an internship on ABC’s Good
Morning America this summer. Lauren said, “I was extremely
nervous for the interview, but felt confident because my
experience at HOM-TV has taught me so much. I feel fortunate
to have worked at HOM-TV and look forward to furthering my
experience in television with this assignment.”
The upcoming issue of the Scoop
will feature the MTNPA Conference and MAB
daughter Taylor live in Farmington Hills, MI.
Brian teaches 8th grade History and English at
East Middle School. He is also the boy’s varsity
basketball coach, and teaches one class on
television production (a weekly newscast for the
school) using his HOM-TV skills. He says, “Tell
Ben and Matt I said hello.”
Mai-Anh Tran-Kapanke (95) is Vice President
of Marketing at Mentoring Partnership of
Minnesota, in Minneapolis.
Two HOM-TVers are engaged! Emily Wagner
(98) and Evan Linnert (00). Haven't set the
date yet, but wedding bells are in the air!
From the Editor Upon landing in L.A., I was really excited to meet with some alumni, in my quest to find
alumni members across the nation. Friday, April 22nd, I met with Justin Gailitis (01), and Sue Teitle (89). We
had a great time chatting about their days at HOM-TV, the camaraderie, and all the hard work. One thing both
Justin and Sue said that really hit at the heart of the internship was, opportunity. Not only the opportunity to be
accepted into the internship program, but the opportunity to take what you learn into every job endeavor, and
the doors it opens in the future. I felt that was really important. Hearing Justin talk about his dedication to drive
across the country for jobs, without travel reimbursement and little pay, really speaks volumes about what it
takes to make it. You make the difference in this industry. No one hands it to you on a silver platter.
